Guest buckseeker
I am getting ready to plant a food plot on my huntin lease, but I don't know what to plant. I don't have any equipment either. Anyone have any suggestions?

wildthing
Are you planning to use the food plot as a hunting spot or simply a destination food plot? Also, how big of an area do you want to plant? How is the soil in the area? Did you test your PH levels yet? I have no real equipment either, but I have planted VERY effective foodplots by purchasing a weed killer spray and borrowed a neighbor's rototiller. Spray the ground...wait about 2 weeks +, then till with the rototiller. It obviously takes a little time and hard work, but if you are thinking about killing big bucks, the time will pass rather quickly! Try to watch the weather and make sure you plant right before a front. Depending on how long you have the lease for, and since you don't have a lot of equipment, I wound plant a perennial clover mix. A perennial clover should last 3-5 yrs. and may only require periodic lime and fertilizer. I personally planted Tecomate Monster Mix. Where there is a will...there is a way! Good Luck!
