Just curious if anyone saw this. This was pointed out on another forum that I'm a member of. I know that no one is perfect, but I try my best to play 100% by the rules 100% of the time. However, this clip shows a R.T. Pro Staffer ... Jeff Folies ... blatantly breaking a FEDERAL waterfowl regulation.

"Floating a Fourth" is a major no no!

Jeff posted this on the Foiles Forum.....

1st of all a benelli sbe2 will NOT carry the 4th shell like the old ones did. Any of You benelli Guys know that the new sbe2s wont carry the 4th but the old ones would and I am sure You have seen many Guys do that. I used to shoot a SX 2 and it wouldn't eiher. When I made the switch to Benelli I have shot nothing but the new guns ( which will not carry 4). I don't spring snow goose hunt and when I have I have an old Benelli that I leave with an extension tube on. So I never have had the plug out of the new ones and won't. What I did is this, something I have done for years carry a 4th shell in My right hand. A lot of the ole timers I hunted with over the years did it and were awesome at it. I have won a couple of steak dinners over it. When the 3rd shell roles out , You roll it in at that last second. Is it right? Its not illegal, but it is fun, I have tried it with 2 and can't do it. Its really kind of fun to see if you can do it. I have hunted for 44 years, done it since I was a kid, not all the time but several, especially shooting trap. I haven't had a game violation, and have hunted all over the world. When I laughed in the video, the reason was because we had just discussed it over dinner the night before. I really hope You Guys enjoyed the other 2 hours and 58 minutes of the video. See ya at game Fair and DU, Thanks and have a great season, Jeff

Although i despise jeff foiles because hes a loud mouth redneck idiot, it is legal to do because the law states that the gun must have a plug limiting the tube too 2 shells

Wow big words for a guy who has never met him. You want a redneck game violator let me introcduce you to Phil Robertson. AKA the duckman. He used to be the biggest violator in the US. Even admitted to it then he decided to change. Read a huge article on it once. Personally foiles is a great guy will talk to you at anytime and makes one of the BEST goose calls on the market today the SMH!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are not removing it here unless folks get out of hand and the thread follows. Guys, I have personally known Jeff for many years and find it hard to believe he would ever knowingly break the law. And do it while filming a hunt to sell on a video. All of this has been very unfortunate for Jeff and all involved. The following is our official statement on the matter:

We at Realtree are currently looking into the question of whether Jeff Foiles shot four shells from an unplugged gun or whether he simply loaded and shot a fourth shell quickly and legally.

Please be aware that as a matter of both personal conviction and corporate policy everyone at Realtree follows game regulations to the letter of the law. We are acutely aware that our high profile in the hunting industry – as well as with the hunting and non-hunting public – makes it extremely important for us to set the right example.

We would like to make note of the fact that no Realtree employees have been named in this issue, nor were any involved in the hunt in question. It is also important to state that we are not aware of any game law violations that have occurred on any hunt in which Realtree or our employees have been directly involved.

We are watching the situation with Jeff Foiles closely and will base our actions on the facts. We will make every effort to gather these facts as quickly as possible, but hope you understand that we must respect everyone's rights and will not simply react without sufficient cause.

For sure I have met him 3 times. 2 times at the DU festival in Osk Kosh and then once at the cableas in Milwaukee, WI when that opened. Funny thing is he actually remembered me from Osh Kosh. After I said hi and shook his hand he asked me how my goose call was since I bought it from him in Osh kosh at the DU fest. To me that meant alot.

just my opinion here--but why in the world would Jeff Foiles take a chance of doing something like floating a shell when he knows it would absolutely ruin his career. I've never met the guy but love his vidoes and the enthusiasm that he shows. I'll take the man for his word--I don't think he would risk his career doing something illegal!

I agree, just doesn't make sense.

Back when I was in the Coast Guard, they taught us how to "field load" an 870. If you practiced it enough, it was easy, and that was with a pump. I'm sure this guy shoots enough to get good at it.

I agree with Todd on this one. I just recently bought all of his Falling skies videos and he seems like a class act and loves the sport of waterfowling. I heard he also sent money to charties.

To me this would be easily put to rest.. Just have him demonstrate his technique of field loading that 4th. and show the people that are questioning him there was NO need for him to float that 4th, round ..;);)

I've personal seen this technique used ,,, I couldn't ever master it my self .. :(

I would say that we aren't in any position to be questioning this man based on a video that doesn't clearly show a thing.. I really hate this GUILTY until proven INNOCENT theory that society had adapted too .. :(

I agree Luke. All he needs to do is take that clip from Fallin Skies, and add a demonstration clip to it, of how he does it. It's a simple remedy for a sticky situation, and could be posted all over the internet to clear the air.

He doesnt respect the animals he harvests when hunting and to me, thats the most important part of hunting. Everyone of his movies theyll shoot birds till they touch the ground, and they clearly knows they are already dead, because they laugh at it everytime they do it. This doesnt really give ME as a hunter, a good image, and i dont like it at all. If you're going to take soemthigns life for your personal benefit (food) you should have the upmost respect for it.

Just like the duck commander who bites the heads of ducks and laughs about it. HMMM

Not trying to start anything but the reason he shoots bird after he initially shoots them is to keep them from going farther away to try to be easier on the dogs, if you have ever hunted flooded corn or timber it is really difficult on the dog swimming through all that to retrieve a bird. As for the bitting ducks on the head tht is just a way to kill them instead of ringing their necks.
