struttinhoyt Posted January 1, 2005 Report Share Posted January 1, 2005 well........how do we get our labz to go get the ducks we will throw one out in the pond they will go out there and sniff it and turn and come back how do we get her to pick it up........and the other one will just go get the duck on ground just not in the water and then she doesnt like to give it back......u can tell they are smart doggs they just dont understand......so how did yall get yalls dogz to work.......... My lab was 52 days old when I got her and the training began as soon as I got her home. I wouldn't actually call it training...it was more like playing but it "trained" her to know what to do. I got it based on the recommendations of the guys here. It is great. I'm in the middle of it with my 14 week old yellow lab. It is a ton of work. But I'm seeing progress. My problem now is with the nasty snow and ice up here, getting her outside to work with her is not a lot of fun (mostly for me). So most of the training is short fetching drills in the house.
