archerjg
You can put a regular rifle scope on a muzzleloader. I put a Burris FullField 2 on mine and have no problems with it. Archerjg
mehunter
I have a fixed 4x40 Nikon on my encore and works great.
wtnhunt
Is it absolutly necessary to have a ml scope on a ml? it cant be just a standard scope? Plenty of good rifle scopes out there that will work fine with your ml. Have a bushnell 3-9X40 on mine, if I was looking for a better quality scope, would probably put a nikon monarch on it. The selling point for most of the new "muzzleloader scopes" I think is with the addition of dots or lines for compensating shooting longer distances. Brad6639
I have an optima magnum and I put a cheap walmart scope ($30) on it back in 2003 just to get me through the season. It shot so nice that I left it on, and in 2004 I shot a nice 10 pointer (gross mid 160's) at 226 yards and dropped him in his tracks, 3 weeks later I shot a nice 7 pointer (gross 130's) at 75 yards and dropped him in his tracks. I still have that scope on now and have no intentions of taking it off. Not too shabby for a 30 dollar scope.
