archerjg
It depends on when it was planted. How many days to maturity and dry down of the corn. Usually it is mid october to early november when we start harvesting corn, but with the dry year it could be a little earlier. The corn is already made now the kernels are starting to harden and then the dry down will start. Archerjg
Ravin R10 man
probably mid oct, all depends on what moister content they need the grain to be

VermontHunter
Here in VT depending on some crop variables the corn is usually being cut any where from Mid. September to early Oct ..
mike
depends on the gestation of the corn. all brands differ a bit. when it starts to turn brown is when it gets close then its up to the moisture content of the kernels. not much more than 16 % moisture or it will rot in the bins;) then it also depends how much money you want to spend drying it. wtnhunt
Really depends. Some corn here is already out. Usually most will not be harvested until September, not uncommon though to still see some standing early October around here.
Ravin R10 man
From the post..I take they are combining the corn, not chopping for silage, therefore, the corn will be out there for awhile, before it drys for storage, like mike said it needs to be dried in the field to cut costs
revhard
around your area it will prolly be the last week of Oct. depending on the moisture of it.. Like said before, it has to be somewhere around 15%-17%
deerslayer79
Our corn here on the eastern shore of Md. is hurting be it irrigated or dryland. Our 175acres of corn is 7ft tall but the ears aren't worth a nickle or the deer have done pulled them off the stalk, what we have left should be ready to go about 2nd week of Sept. hopefully all our beans will hang on.
