Turkeygirl Posted August 19, 2007 Report Share Posted August 19, 2007 Well friends, I am home now. Yesterday camp came to an end. The last campers left at 10:45am yesterday...we finished packing and cleaning, and then the director and one of the counselors left. After lunch I came home to unpack then went over and ate dinner and hung out one last time. Like I said at our closing campfire Friday night, there are not enough words to explain how amazing this summer was working at the DEC Env. Ed. Camp. Outside of home, I have the best family there...we had an amazing staff this year and the camp director, she does an amazing job of running this camp. Most of us choked up at the closing campfire and saying my good byes last night....well I haven't cried that much since my cat died. It has been a wonderful blessing to work there and next summer, God willing, I will be back. Now comes getting ready for school and hunting season! Some of us plan to try and get together and hunt and I even have an "in" to go over hunting around camp through the operations/maintenance guy.
