PremiumBeef
I just bought a full Scent Lok suit this year, I have a cold weather and a warm weather set. I have never used Scent Lok and was wondering what those of you who have used it previosly for bowhunting deer think about it. Is it something you would not hunt without or is it just another gimmick?
dogdoc
I never deer hunt without it. Maybe a gimmick but it gives me confidence. It's not 100%--I've been busted before wearing it and have also had deer walk directly down wind of me and never smelled me.
wtnhunt
Have had deer under me without any scent lok or blocker suits with using the scent practices I use, but did break down and get one scent lok shirt and one pair of scent lok lined pants for this season to give a try. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
my next scentblocker/scentlok type suit will be one that can be wore alone or wore under something in the cold weather. i like em, they may not be 100% effective, but IMO they do work to some degree IF to take care of it. i still practice scent control byt taking scent free showers and all that other good stuff...and spray down with white lightning before heading out to my stand (if you have never tried white lightning, i highly recommend it)
randyoitker1
I have worn a Scent-Lok suit since I was 12 years old. I have hunted deer since i was 9 and did not shoot one until I wore my first Scent-lok suit. I have worn one every year since and I have shot at least one deer every year sometimes 2. I now wear the base layers and the suit over it. I think just base layers would work though under your other clothes. Good Luck, Randy
Hoyt03
Anything Tiffany L..oh and Lee endorse i'm buying, LOL. It's some good stuff. Do I think it is absolutely neccessary for most hunts, not if you do proper scent elimination, but it probably doesn't hurt. Some of it's kinda pricey though. rad_112176
I have shot alot of deer not using scent lock, but i do have to say that i didn't start seeing the quality of deer that i see these days until i got one. I think it is a must if you are wanting to hunt the mature deer. Not saying you couldn't get by without one. If you take exceptional care of all your hunting clothes and be sure to clean yourself in the same you could be ok.
AdvantageTimberLou
Lots of nay sayers on this technology, all I know is I like my Scent Blocker suit and the way I see, my money, my choice and I like it! I am seeing more deer closer and if you can fool an old mature doe at 8 yards and she beds down in front of you, something is working!! woodsman2230
I had a set of scent lok then I switched to Scent Blocker. It seemed like a saw more deer when I had scent control clothing so thats good enough for me. I have had deer directly down wind of me and they didnt spook so something was doing right. I honestly dont care if its a gimmick or not. It gives me confidence and I believe that helps in any situation. Best of luck this season. Guest bowtechhunter
Worth the money As I have said in other threads, carbon lined gear is well worth the money. It's not a gimmick, and if you look at the size of scent-lok and scent blocker, proof is in the pudding. It's up to you what to believe, but I literally live to hunt and hunt 100+ days a year, and I am not in the woods huting without scent-lok. I have about 5 pairs of gear, and have worn scent-lok for years. There's a 9pt 150" on my wall that was shot standing at 31 yards downwind, out of a crap 12' stand, and I only sat that stand because I was late getting there from work, couldn't shower, and got in 2 hrs before dark. Spraying down with Scent Gorilla (the best), and jumping in scent-lok, it all came together. You have to maintain the garmets correctly in order for them to continue to work for you for a long time. I'm not going to get into it, but I have written some other stuff on other threads about it. It's not hype, it's a fact, it works. It doesn't make you invisible, but it sure as helk trys. I still have deer blow on me, but usually coming in from downwind and catch me moving, almost never from smell, but nothing's foolproof. Still play the wind. Refuse to Follow.
