bug spray?

I started to buy a thermacell just yesterday, but got to thinking it will only do any good in the stand. From what I understand from what I read on the box, it has to be laying flat. Unfortunately mosquitoes and biting flies around here are just as relentless to and from stands and so in order to keep them off of you, the thermacell is really not an option. I often times use a bugsuit for early season here and it works well. Have also used no stinkin bugs quite a bit, and that stuff works well too, but wal mart here does not carry it anymore. With the no stinkin bugs with fresh earth scent, I have had deer underneath me several times, it is not offensive to the deer at all.

William, don't believe everything you read. I usually turn my thermacell on as soon as I pull up to the woods (it takes about 10 minutes for it to start smokin') and then clip it onto my pack or sling and it keeps the nagging bugs away while walking in. *Before I bought my thermacell I use to use No Stinkin' Bugs. I know that Wal-Mart and Bass Pro carry it. The one problem I found with No Stinkin' Bugs was that it wouldn't last the entire hunt, so you had to re-spray and make that noise.

Never had a problem with no stinkin bugs lasting for me unless I got to sweating bad with the heat we tend to have here during our archery seasons. Will have to give the thermacell a try this year. Actually had one in the buggy last time I was at wal mart, but decided to hold off on getting one just yet.

Same here William. I start mine when I leave the camp in my cart. By the time I get to my walk in point it's smoking. Just like unioncountyslayer I clip mine to my fanny pack and walk in with it on. It does make a difference walking in.
