Washi
What rangefinders will work through the mesh windows in a hunting blind? I bought the Bushnell Yardage Pro Sport 450 and found out it won't. I'm thinking of sending it back and upgrading to the Bushnell Yardage Pro Scout. Will it work without having to go through a menu to find a certain mode? I want to just push the button once and get a range. Suggestions on other models/brands welcome. Thanks in advance. buckee
I don't think you will find any range finder that will not be effected by the mesh. Do your ranging with the mesh down, so you know when a deer passes a certain point, you'll know how far he is.
wtnhunt
Not sure if the compact 800 from bushnell will range through the mesh on a blind or not. It will range through window screen mesh just fine though.

The problem with doing that is it seems like the deer seldom come out where I expect them to. Plus when I'm hunting the edge of a field or pasture there aren't usually any trees or other markers I can range. Thanks for the idea though. I may just have to figure out how to make the "pre-ranging" work for me.
BowtechTurkeyHunter
I forget the model or brand but you need the one that ignores close objects like limbs and such ... then it will range correctly Steve This one will work http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat602006-cat20756&id=0027403711049a&navCount=1&podId=0027403&parentId=cat20756&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=QW&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20756&hasJS=true
JDAWG
If you are hunting a field, just put some small markers out there and range them. A rock, limb etc should work for you

I have that rangefinder and have been very happy with it. It has a couple different modes, including rain mode. Dont know how different the mesh would be from a window screen, but like I said in my previous reply here, it ranges accurately without any problems through window screens. Leo
Some of them only work if its actually touching the screen you're trying to range through. Try that. Might work for you.
