dogdoc
your thoughts. I do believe this is a penalty that is way over called. To be specific I have when the receiver is running a long straight away with the defender right behind a yard or two. The ball is under throwned and the reciever stops and gets bumped by the defender--1/2 the time the ball isn't catchable anyway and the flag gets thrown every time! I believe this needs to be changed. I guess offense makes for a more excitible game so the NFL wants to keep it that way--High Scoring. todd
Hillbilly
Re: pass interference..... well..... My colts were the one that got this call to be held up this year. Last year playoffs we were held before the pass was thrown playing at the PATS. Sometimes I think it shouldn't be called, and other times it should be. I mean it can go either way. Strut_Buster
Re: pass interference..... Yep.. I point to that game last year every time. Watch the game, i taped it. If the rules were what they were last year the Colts woulda been in the superbowl. O well.. theres always this year
buckbuster11
Re: pass interference..... I do think the refs overdue it sometimes but I like the new rule in general. Like the other guys said some teams got away with way to much last year in terms of holding receivers.
billygoat
Re: pass interference..... Unfortunately, it's one of those "acting" penalties (kind of like a charge in basketball)... seems like most of the time it is called because of some "pleading" player who needs a flag, because "God knows" he would have caught the ball it he wasn't interferred with... Indeed... overcalled.
