My Son got Married Yesterday and .........much more

I'm feeling on top of the world right now, and give God all the praise and Glory.:)

My Son Troy got married this weekend, which was a really joyous occasion , because he came to know Jesus as his Saviour and didn't want to live like he was any more.

As some of you old timers know, I had a son and daughter from my first wife, when I was married at age 17. The marriage lasted 6 years, but I wasn't fit to be married or be a father, because of my bad habits.

We split up back in Ontario, and I went west and ended up here on Vancouver Island with a new bride, and another daughter. Life is a funny thing, because as time went by, my X-wife remarried, and also moved around the country here and there, until I completely lost track of her, for a few years. Then she and the family, plus the in-laws ended up settling on Southern Vancouver Island, about 20 years ago.

My son and I were reunited at that time, but my daughter Stacey wanted nothing, absolutely nothing to do with me. I don't really know why she was so bitter, accept for the fact I had been absent as a father for so many years. I still sent her Christmas cards and gifts and birthday cards and gifts, for years, with very little response accept the odd thank you note.

A have always prayed that some day, we would reunite but nothing ever happened, and I didn't want to force myself on her. Time went by (almost 30 years now) and she got married to an older fella, and just had a baby last year. I actually gave up ever meeting her about 3 years ago, and stopped all communication with her.

My X-wife has always been very bitter toward me too.

Yesterday, at my son's wedding, it all changed. I met my daughter, husband and grandchild, and my x-wife, and my x-mother-in-law. My x-wife also accepted Jesus as her Saviour about 10 years ago (she said) and my daughter has also recently accepted him as her Saviour as well.

There were a lot of hugs, a lot of tears, and a great time had by all.

Many of my Prayers were all answered yesterday, and inspite of my illness right now, I am very thankful and happy. I also slept like a baby last night for the first time in months.:D

A very heavy weight has been lifted from my life, my shoulders and my mind. Thank you Lord.

Here's some pictures

Romans 8:28

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Absolutely awesome story! I am so happy for you and pray that these things continue: your "new man" feeling, the new-found relationship between you and your daughter, and the acceptance of Jesus as Savior by your family members.

Thanks for sharing such great news! :)

Congrats to your son and his new wife!
