Guest kaleb
I just bought a regular 209x50 ss encore. I already own a vx-ll 3x9x50mm that is not being used. This is my first t/c and need help on which rings and bases is best. Thanks
Tominator
Back in the day when AJ was around, I asked him the same question and he recommended the T/C base with Warne quick detach rings, so that's what I went with. Haven't shot it yet though, but they seem pretty solid.
TCFORLIFE
Welcome to the forums. With the 3x9x50 you will need the high rings. I have the same setup. What brand rings and base are you looking at?
EKYhunter
Talley makes a one piece mount specifically for the Encore. I purchased mine from Cabelas but Talley does have a web-site. They are a very nice, well machined mount.
Guest kaleb
I liked the looks of the one piece Talley just wanted to know what others had to say. Will I still need the high mounts if I remove the rear sight?
bigmoss
Yup the TC high rings and TC Base even in camo if you want it

Let us know what you go with and post pictures if you can!
Guest kaleb
I do already have some leupold high mounts, wonder how well lepold rings and mounts work? Never had any trouble, but never had a encore?
EKYhunter
I do already have some leupold high mounts, wonder how well lepold rings and mounts work? Never had any trouble, but never had a encore? Do your bases fit the Encore? If so, give them a try. I had Leuoplod rings and bases on a Browning A Bolt and they worked out fine. You shouldn't have any trouble.
wtnhunt
I do already have some leupold high mounts, wonder how well lepold rings and mounts work? Never had any trouble, but never had a encore? The 50 mm objective will require high rings. The leupold rings would work fine if they are high rings, but you will need the bases for your ml. If I were putting new rings on a ml though I would probably also follow AJ's advice to Chris and go with the warne qd high rings or the maxima qd high rings. tedicast
I use either Leupold Dual Dovetails, or Quick release rings and bases on all my Encores. On my .223, I had to go with the extra high rings to clear a 50mm objective. Even with the extra high rings, I had to modify the objective cover to be able to slide it on.
