TreeWalker
I got several picks of this young 8-point, with what appears to be a healed over archery shot......a poor one at that. In one pic you can definitely see what looks like a scar with lines as if from a broadehad entry....

slughunter
If that is a shot wound, then he is one tough deer, A great looking buck too. Is this a buck you gonna chase this fall? -shane
TreeWalker
...........A great looking buck too. Is this a buck you gonna chase this fall? -shane No.....not quite what I am looking for......he's got great potential, but just hasn't reached it yet. There's much bigger deer in this area...... toddyboman
Looking at these again. In the first pictures, is the buck in the back out of velvet.....
Tominator
If that was a passthrough shot, it's awfully hard to believe that that deer survived. It went right through the paunch.
wtnhunt
If that was a passthrough shot, it's awfully hard to believe that that deer survived. It went right through the paunch. Was kind of thinking the same thing. From those pics, I really cannot see for sure that it looks to me like the marks were made from a broadhead. Looks like the buck in the back in the first pic is out of velvet already. Nice pics.
TreeWalker
Here's another pic with the two bucks together, and a close-up to boot..............yes that smaller buck is nearly out of velvet. This is one of the pics that lent me to believe that is was a broadhead wound......and from a treestand perspective, this buck could have been shot quartering away, the left side (shown) being the entry, and the lower slightly forward on the right side, the pass through exit...... But then again, it could just be to totally different scars that just happens to lead one to think what may have happened......
beagleboy
Very well could be an archery misshap. Good observation. Very lucky deer if it were a pass through.
buckee
It amazes me sometimes what a deer can live through. It looks like he was shot at from an elevated position too. It may have just grazed his paunch. Great pictures Clay

Just wondering usually around here the first velvet loosers come by the end of next week, roughly the 3-7th of Sept, observed by years of trailcam pics:D:D
