Abear
Well i always shoot some does because I have to have some deer meat. But if a shooter buck doesn't present itself i won't take a small one
Rhino
You didn't mention does or bucks in the pole so I assumed you only meant bucks. I went with age too. We get 3 bucks here in MS so age comes first in my decision here at home. I like the nice big antlered old bucks just like anyone else but I'll shoot an old cull buck in a heartbeat to get him out of the gene pool. Last year I took an old cull buck out that was a heavy 6 point with a 19" inside spread. At the time he was chasing a doe and I sure didn't want him passing those genes on. He was aged at 4 1/2. When I'm hunting out of state both age and overall antler size come into play when it comes to the moment of truth. After all I only get 1 buck in the states that I go to when I'm successful at drawing a tag. It sometimes takes up to 3 years to draw a tag too. While I'm on those out of state hunts I'll hold out for a big one. Like the old saying goes, you can't kill a big one if you kill a smaller one first. As far as does go...2 years old or older and I'm liable to put a hole in one.
bonehuntr
Age is amust for immpressive big bucks, but if a immpressive buck comes in without age I will probably take it. Meaning 135 or bigger.

Cutter
We have a couple of doe tags available here so they dont get a free pass but it has to be a P&Y until its the last week of the season.
