RangerClay
For the first time ever I have managed to grow pumpkins in my garden (thank you OutdoorGirl:D) My problem is this, my pumpkins have been a solid orange for about two weeks. If I keep them attached to the vine will they last till October? I feel kinda funny carving jackolanterns about now.
wtnhunt
Not too sure Joe. Have only grown pumpkins a couple times, but think so long as the vine is not dried out, they will be just fine. If the vines get dried out, they need to be picked.
Tominator
They'll be fine. I would highly suggest rolling them up on end once the leaves die off, and spray them with Sevin or Ciflurin (sp?) If you leave them sit too long bean bettles will eat the skin, and grubs will bore into them and make them useless. Most of mine developed early too. I think it was due to the hot weather.
