rhine16
I have been using the buck jam to pour a little on top of my deer chow to attract the deer through smell. I really dont know if it helps any more. I've poured it on stumps beside my bait, but didnt get any pictures of deer licking it or anything. By the way, gonna clarify that i only have used it for bait in front of a cam during off season months, since i'm in a state where it is illegal to bait during season
wtnhunt
Tried buck jam on a stump at a camera here last year and all I got pics of on it was raccoons and possums, no deer came to it at all.

rhine16
I have a bag sitting in my toolbox. Not sure why my uncle bought it, but he did. I guess i'll just pour out in front of a cam and see how it works. Not gonna hunt over it, so it's kinda pointless for me to have it. however, i'm sure it works great. Read on the package and seems to be a great attractant (dont they all??? ).

ousoonerfan22
My son seems to the think the deer are eating the acorn rage, there was tracks around it. I've been using the persimmon craze and apple buck jam for an attractant poured in the center of small piles of soybean meal and the deer eat the meal but leave caked up syrup. I did pour the craze on corn on top of a stump and the deer ate it but I can tell something they will eat and thats peanut butter smeared on a stump. wtnhunt
the deer that i have shot last year all were on the buck jam lick sites Guess maybe it works in some areas, but not others. It most certainly did not attract ANY deer here where I tried it last year.
PineyBrake
I use lots of Buckjam in various flavors and Stump licker. I pour them on salt blocks, stumps, and my ground licks. I think that the deer will eat whatever you pour them on and they really work well at first. I have a stump or ground mineral lick site on every stand and so I just mix it all up. I have not used acorn rage yet, but I plan on putting it in my troughs and electric feeders in about a week when I bait everything up for the first of bow season. HUNTINGMAN
I have used the persimon buck jam for the last two years with great results, the deer tear it up.Pour it on logs, stumps or the ground and they will eat it.There was a couple of sapplings beside the lick where I had been pouring it that must have soaked it up it its roots because the deer ate the bark off of the trees as far up as I could reach,I had pics of this on here,if I can find them I will put them back up. sskybnd
i have used acornrage along with cameer deer, both cost quite a bit but have had every good luck with them both, just but it on some corn and in a few days it will be gone.
hungry hunter
I have tried both here in Florida, neither of them worked:( the buck jam in persimmon does make a good cover scent if there are wild persimmon trees around:D and you are NOT on public land. wtnhunt
we have tried trophy rock and we cant get anything to come into it but i think we are going to use buck ja agin this year maybe all depends on where we hunt at How do you know they did not use it? Did you use a trail cam over the mineral site? If you had a camera on the site and got no activity, did you setup your mineral site near a trail where the deer could find it and within reasonable distance to a water source? Have you tried other mineral attractants in the same area, if so did they work? Best time to establish a mineral site is in the spring. Deer will hit minerals hard spring and summer and even into fall in some places. I have tried BuckJam,Acorn Rage,Cmere Deer and Trophy Rock. Only one that worked was Trophy Rock. Deer loved it.... I am not sure what additional minerals are in the trophy rocks that make them so attractive to deer, but in my experience mineral sites where the trophy rocks are used do seem to do better than other minerals. Won't waste my money on buck jam here ever again, it simply did not work. It might work elsewhere. I had pics of hawks, possums and raccoons at the stump I poured the stuff over, no deer pics.
