wtnhunt
These little ones are fun to watch and try to shoot pics of. Shot these this past weekend from leaned up against the house, thought they were ok, could have probably gotten a little closer. Might try again this weekend, this little female bird is downright greedy, will not let any other birds get near the feeders. In the last frame another bird is trying to get to the feeder, I snapped the pic right before she launched:eek:, but did get both birds in the pic:cool:. toddyboman
Nice :) We watch them at my grandmas all the time. She has 3 feeders and about 6 to 8 birds around there all the time. They dart around like mad at each other, not letting one another eat. Very interesting to watch.
Rhino
Cool pics William. I had one of those startle me while relaxing on the back porch at our camp after a day on the tractor Friday. I heard the loud buzzz but that was the last critter I expected to see 3 feet or so in front of my face at the time.
c_lou
Those are great pics William. I got buzzed this last weekend by a hummingbird. I swear it flew within inches of my face.

Buckslayer
The only bird that can fly in reverse. Great pics!
LifeNRA
Those are cool William! I like the second one down! I had one buzzing around me while I was out dove hunting last weekend. Pretty cool to watch! Wonder if they ever come into the city? BTW, what exactly do you have in the feeder? Sugar water?
M00N
Nice pictures. We have a few around the house here that buzz infront of the windows sometimes. We need to get a feeder for them, but always forget to pick one up everytime we're somewhere that sells them.

wtnhunt
BTW, what exactly do you have in the feeder? Sugar water? We use the little packets of instant nectar John.
rhine16
Awesome picures! My grandad has them flying like crazy on his porch where he has a couple feeders hanging. I went in the other day for like 5 minutes, and when i came out there was one laying dead by my boot. Guess it flew into the window

Guess it flew into the window We have found a couple of them dead here this summer. They are extremeley territorial. Think with having watched them here, that there is a good chance that the ones we found were most likely killed by other hummingbirds.
