c_lou
My wife and I are looking at ditching our land line and getting cell phones. Our dilema is who to go with. That's were you fine people come in. I am wondering who everybody likes. We live in an area where coverage can be spotty at best(terrain related). I have looked at a few and the best coverage I can see is Alltel.
preacherman
I have Cingular; because it is the only company really represented well in our area. Also, most all of my friends have Cingular; so we are able to talk mobile to mobile and it not cost anything.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
We have sprint, well, my sister and I do, my parents have nextel, they work fine, i was just tired of the direct connect on nextels so i switched. I know a few peopel with Alltel, have heard no complaints from anyone about them.
Steven
I've had cingular (now AT&T) for years and, as a trucker, I rarely found somewhere I couldn't get coverage. High atop the Rockies, middle of nowhere Arizona, the hills of Pa and NC, I can find coverage just about anywhere.
JimT
I also have Att and have had good luck with them. Coverage is good and the basic family plan is $60.00 a month. Phones were "free" also......
billkay
I have ATT/Cingular as well. Pretty good service plus if you have ATT at home for your land line, you can sign up to get a single bill, no charge, both landline and cell. The benefit to that is you can use your cell to call any ATT landline for free/no minutes.
Bowtech_archer07
I would talk to people around your immediate area. Some phones get better service in different areas. I've found that my Cingular/ATT phone gets good service everywhere i've been. But like I said check with people in your immediate area. stevebeilgard
i have altel. and they do, indeed, live up to their reputation of "the most dropped calls"
LifeNRA
I have Nextel. In my area we have great coverage. I have found fewer dead areas with them so far! I love the two-way, with nation wide unlimited direct connect. We use less minutes, so we opted for a smaller package. But we still have 800 minutes a month to burn if needed! LOL! Thats for two phones too!
ParrotHead
I've had Cingular/AT&T now for 4 years - can't really complain about them. I travel and the coverage is great.
beagleboy
My wife and I have Nextel and we can't wait till our contract is up. They used to be good when we first had then and now we have alot of dead zones and dropped calls.
AdvantageTimberLou
I have Verizon and it works good for me. Works in my hunting area and that is must for me. Don't want to be in an area and not have signal!
Guest Finn
After talking with people up here north east of you in Price County, we're going with Alltel.
WHISKEYSWAMP
I have Alltel and get quite a bit of dropped calls... only reason I stick with them is that work pays the bill.
Griz
I have AT&T/Cingular also...

c_lou
I went to the Cingular home page and entered my zip code for coverage. It came back with some message about lots of coverage, just not in my zip code.
Guest totalscaf
I have Nextel and Verizion. If it wasn't for work I would drop nextel the same way it does all of my calls! I carry the verizion as a back-up.
Guest totalscaf
But I don't know if I would completly drop home service, maybe just take it down to bare minimum. Never know what could happen if you forget to charge your cell. This is what I did and only gave close family my home, plus the alarm system works off the land line.
