Guest gt2003
I just bought an automatic feeder last year. How long should i expect the battery to last? I bought the 6-volt charger also for what it's worth. I know a freshly charged battery will last long enough to empty the feeder because it was empty when i went and got it. My thought is to change out the battery each time I refill the 5 gallon feeder. Is this overkill, will the battery last a lot longer than that? It feeds twice per day, 15-20 seconds per feeding. Thanks, Greg
ousoonerfan22
I have my feeders set on 1-3 seconds and going off four times a day and I usually change the rechargable batteries once a month,I bought two extra batteries so I just rotate them. dogdoc
i have a kenco tornado feeder---two 9V batteries operate 3 motors. I run the feeders all year and change the batteries every 6 months whether they need it or not. My Moultrie feeder which runs on one battery for one motor that throws twice a day will last about 3 months. I use the Energizer batteries. Guest gt2003
Looks like i may be overdoing it a bit. I'll change the battery just before muzzleloader season and again just before rifle season to make sure i've got enough battery to last. Just FYI, where do you all hunt in Oklahoma? I live in Gore and usually hunt around here and possibly at my sister and brother in laws in Guthrie/Mulhall. I also work for Sysco Foods out of Norman and do all my archery stuff at Tabe's archery in Shawnee. This will be my first year in a while to take enough time to do some good hunting. I'm planning on taking some time off work for muzzleloader season and rifle season which I haven't done in the last few years so I'm excited. take care, Greg
