PotashRLS
I agree with Oneida Man. Here in Wisconsin I would put that deer at 3 1/2. He may not make book as his tines are short and he's an 8pt. HOWEVER, he's a hog! Some bucks just don't have the genetics to make them score well, no matter how old they get. I do think that he's an extremely healthy deer and your area food sources must be darn good. Personally, if you have never harvested a 200lb buck(dressed), take him if you get the chance. I'd bet the farm he'll dress over 200lbs.

Guest trackerman64
as far as shooter or not, well on state land around here that is definitely a shooter, as far as age and the nose goes, the nose on older deer may appear to be shorter due to the over all size of the rest of the head, body and rack, but i would have to agree from all the books on deer i have read, and time i have spent on a couple trophy ranches, that the older they get the longer the nose, there was also a good point made about the grey muzzle, that deer has no grey what so ever and the nose is short, if you want a good reference look at a mature doe and a yearling, the old doe will have a long nose whereas the yearling will have a very pronounced short, blocky muzzle,
