I got my name in the hat when G5 did the online promotion. I received a free Striker today. Cool!

They even sent it with a band-aid to emphasize it's sharpness.

This is NO JOKE. They really are that sharp. You could easily cut yourself with no effort just touching these blades. The blades are scalpel sharp.

LOL thats because G5's real job is making and sharpening surgical equipment ... I guess that would make them good at it.

Shot mine last night.I will say that I was pretty impressed with how well it flew.I have had problems in the past with fixed blade heads being a little off from my field tips, but these shot pretty darn close to where my other arrows were hitting.Seems to be a great head, but holding it next to my Crimson Talons the G5 looks quite a bit smaller. It did penetrate into my target a little more than the Talons though.

Are you guys tuning these things to get them to fly so well or just screwing them in?

What do you mean? If the blades match the vanes of your arrow? That is not needed, some have tried and that makes no difference. A well tuned bow will shoot them like your fieldtips and these fly awesome!

As for the promotion, seen a few over at AT got more than the free one alotted and one cat actually bragged about it, that guy got 4! That is why the promotion was cut short, guys being pigs and signing up everyone they know because it was one per household!!

Sorry guys missed out, they are worth it though, fly awesome! I never got a free one as I already had 3 in my quiver. Great broadhead!!

ATL,

That's exactly what I meant. I'm pretty new to bow hunting and this is the first year I'm going to shoot fixed blades. Actually, I had already bought a pack of G5s. I had been told you needed to match the blades to vanes. It's good to know I don't need to worry about it, because I wouldn't know how to do it.

Ironhorse,

That myth has been around for a long time, some guys beleive its true and still believe you must do it but its been tried and no difference in flight. Don't waste your time messing around trying to do it.

If you ever have a question, please post it, tons of knowledge on here and they are more than willing to help!

Good luck Ironhorse hunting this year! :) Hope that G5 finds its way to a great buck! :)

ATL,

I really appreciate it. I had been reading these threads for a long time and finally decided to jump in.

In looking at G5's website, I found that they have a page that allows you to submit questions. Not that I didn't believe you, but I thought I'd see what they had to say. G5 sent me a verty prompt answer over e-mail and said the same thing. Seems to be a great product and you have to appreciate quick responses to customer inquiries.
