kooter
Re: Winchester Xtended Range turkey loads...... i wonder if you can shoot that out of a regular turkey choke or if you have to have one designed for the hevi-shot stuff

Guest MattA311
Re: Winchester Xtended Range turkey loads...... I drilled a Tom last year at 45 yards with their high velocity lead shells in #5 3 1/2 12 guage. The Bird flopped 3 times and laid there motionless. I was sold, never had a Turkey load perform that well at that range. I haven't used Hevi shot yet just because you have to buy a special choke for it. Don't wanna spend the extra $$ when lead performs well enough for what I use it for. I don't shoot at birds beyond 45 usually.. but it is nice having a shell that would do it if one hung up that far out. Let me know if you can use this with a regular Turkey Choke or if you need a hevi shot choke.

Strut10
Re: Winchester Xtended Range turkey loads...... I've got a box of these shells in my grubby little hands. I'm just waiting on some hardness tests and the "go-ahead" from the Comp-N-Choke people. If the shot passes their approval (for use in their chokes) I'll be testing soon.
