bonehuntr
Here's some pics from the national Stearman Fly In this weekend.Talk about some neat history. There was a little of everything from american war history. The first couple of pics are of a flight formation contest . The last is my son Cameron in the pilot seat of a C-130 Hercules. Check out that smile!

buckee
That is pretty cool alright. You don't see too many bi-planes these days.
bonehuntr
I believe there was a couple hundred bi- planes there and many other planes old war planes. Must of been 20 to 25planes in the air at one time. Had them flying over the house all week. Couldn't even imagine what it would look like back in the time of war with 100's in the air at one time. Breathtaking.
OJR
Those were some of the finest flying airplanes there were! I had many hours in those things and enjoyed every moment of it!

texastrophies
That smile says it all!!!!!!! There are still a couple of those around here that they use as crop dusters. Talk about some crazy pilots, they fit the bill. Have seen them go under power lines and bridges, and when I was working in rice fields, they got so low to the ground when spraying, you felt like you needed to duck when they came over you while flagging them. Tominator
There's a local crop duster in these parts that has a Stearman. I wonder if he was there. Those things have a very distinctive sound.
OJR
Flying a Sterman! I used to fly one as a cropduster! Tough business and risky! There were times when I was so low that the wheels would be turning from hitting the tops of the grain! Short life-span! Good money though!!
