Remember the NFL Draft??

The guy picked first just got around to signing.

Looking at these numbers, I reckon Jamarcus might have enough for a new house eh?

Ending months of negotiations and a holdout that stretched to more than six weeks, the Oakland Raiders reached a contract agreement in principle on Monday night with JaMarcus Russell, the former LSU quarterback who was the first overall selection in the 2007 draft.

Sources said the contract, hammered out in four days of marathon face-to-face negotiations in the Bay Area, has a maximum value of $68 million. The deal also includes about $31 million-$32 million in guarantees and an attractive payout schedule that will enable Russell to earn substantially more in the first three seasons of the deal than the $20.95 million that Houston Texans defensive end Mario Williams, the top overall selection in the 2006 draft, will bank in his first three years. There are also guarantees in the fourth season of Russell's deal, and he will make more in that period than the $23.35 million that Williams will pocket in his first four years.

DUMB IMHO. :mad::mad::mad:

It makes me so mad these cry babies hold out and do all this crap because they want more money.:rolleyes:If they are a sesoned vet thats one thing but a ROOKIE that has yet to play a single second in the NFL...... Come on. It would have been great if they sent his butt on down the road to the unemployement office. But of course I know some team would have paid him. I really wish all the owners would get together and put their foot down.

What kills me is Brady Quinn getting racked over the coals and I didn't hear anything about this??

If you're talking about on here, its because we really weren't raking Quinn over the coals. We were just screwing with you.:D

And if you're talking about in the media, then its because we're talking about Jamarcus Russell here. Not the next Joe Montana.:D

I'm not the one that predicted the Browns would actually look like a football team this year DB. My opinions count, yours do not.

They still will. One game doesn't make a season, and really, there were several things that allowed that game to get out of hand so quickly. It's really not a full indication of what the Browns are.

1. Frye's play gave good starting field postion.

2. A punter that was only on the roster for 22 hours blew the first punt of the game.

3. The quick deficit took Jamal Lewis out of the game plan.

This team can still win 6-7 games.

Front 7 stinks? I'll agree our Dline is terrible, but our LB's are mustard. They'll be heading in the right direction by the end of this season.

This is a VERY young and inexperience team. All of our core guys are 26 years old or younger, and we don't have the type of leadership young players need. They need a vocal, tough coach, Romeo isn't that guy. He'd be good with a team like he coordinated in New England...a group of veteran, pro's pro's they'll come around.

All good points.:D:D

Muggs, yes the front 7 stinks. Wimbley is real good, the rest are junk.

Once again, you show your foolishness. Wimbley, D'Qwell Jackson, Leon Williams and Antwaan Peek can all play. Leon Williams is gonna be a good one too.

But the Dline is terrible and they're all old as dirt.
