wildthing
Guys...help me out here. I am looking to buy a new 4x4 quad this year. Any comments or suggestions on manufacturers?? I am looking into the Yamaha Grizzly or Suzucki King Quad... Any feedback here??
centralsaskhunter
Go with Polaris. Thats all we have ever used and have never had a problem until last year, but that was my fault, not the machines. All I'm gonna say is it doesn't appreciate it when the only thing you can see are the handlebars sticking out of the water.
Brad6639
Id also give Polaris the nod, the day that they proved themself to me was me and my friends were trying to pull an iceshanty (big wooden permanent) off the lake because it was getting close to the removal date. There was nothing but slush and about 6 to 8 inches of snow on top of the ice. the owner had an arctic cat and tried to pull it off with the machine and couldnt, then tried to winch it out and that didnt work either. Finally my friend went and got his sportsman and pulled the arctic cat and the permanent off the lake the 1st try. I just have a 325 2x4 magnum and I love it, even its hard to get stuck, and its only 2wd.
Jodyslilbro
I'd go with Grizzly if your deciding between the two. There was a huge branch where I needed to go so I brought out the Grizzly and had it out in no time.
preacherman
I would go with the Grizzly out of the two as well. And if you wanted to look toward another option; look toward a Honda.
kuntryboy
Honda is a work horse ! i have a 05' 500 and it has all the features a hunter would want . and honda's have a tract record of being verry reliable !
wildthing
I took at look at the Grizzly '08, 700cc in camo last night...it was nice!
Guest jayjaysin
I like the new ones with EFI, and especially the power stearing! I think that Grizzly has both, and one of Honda's too. I own a sportsman and it's great as well. I'd say get the one you can afford and offers the most options to fit your needs, regardless of brand. Oh, and maybe most important, a good, reliable dealer/shop should figure into the equation as well in determining which brand.
slughunter
We have the sportsman 500 with the 2-up feature, its the smoothest, most durable quad i have rode. And it has the turf mode that makes it so when you turn in grass you dont rip it up and the rear suspention is set back behind the axle so it is really good on hills. There is a bunch more about it that is awsome but I dont think i can type it all up. -shane
coles
just like i tell everyone else on here that asks about 4-wheelers...go to the dealership, ask if you can do a test ride and then decide from there. i have an 07 grizzly 660 and i love it. its the smoothest one i have ever ridden. The grizzly 700 is an awesome bike as well with the powersteering and efi. First decide what features you would like to have then go find the one that fits your requirements the best. Good luck and let us know how it comes.
Ravin R10 man
Test drove the Yamaha 700 with power stering..and the new 700 efi polaris..came home with the Polaris
johnf
Pick your top 4 and go with whoever gives you the best deal. The top brands are all good.
wtnhunt
Surprised you leave honda off your list. That would be my first choice if I was looking.
snapper
I test rode both of those models and a Kaw Brute Force 750i...ended up buying the Kawasaki it had more power and more speed than the Griz and King Quad. They were all nice in their own way...but I like the looks of the Brute Force and love the power!
wildthing
I took at look at the an '08 Yamaha Grizzly and Kaw Brute force...8K+...pretty nice, but VERY EXPENSIVE!
bigmoss
Also another nod for Polaris had many of them for years right up tp the 800 and never had an issue, greatest ride and best clearance !
98chevy
So far i have been happy with yamaha. But just to let you know I had 2 hondas that are over 20 years old. We maybe have a grand worth of parts in both of them. Thats impressive to me. Hnda just didnt have a sidexside so i got a rhino

98chevy
I love my honda's also, But I'm loking into the rino. how do you like yours? Its is amazing. I can get 4 people in it with my rear seat. It goes any where my atvs go. Best of all its comfortable and you can haul stuff with out tieing it all down like on a atv rack. kuntryboy
That is great to hear ! Do tou mind telling me what you gave for yours? I'm trying to compair prices!
98chevy
I dont mind but from what ive heard I payed little more then most. I got the 450 camo out the door for $9000.00 most people where paying somthing like 8500 and heard of less just dont see how. Alabama things like that seem to go higher same with trucks. Good luck. The new black 700 seems like a cool rig but its 11400. personlly they didnt change enough for me to want to sell my 07 for a 08 and the mark up on the the 08 is kinda of steep. Smitteken
My buddy just bought the Rhino yesterday, its pretty nice. But I'm still a 4-wheeler guy. Take a look at Can-Am they've got a fantastic engine, and Field and Stream gave them a really good review compared to the other top brands. wildthing
I am still up in the air...all the bikes seem to have their own advantages and disadvantages...price may be the buying factor.
wildthing
any of you guys out there own any bikes with camo patterns on them? Do the patterns scratch / scrape off easy or are they pretty durable? I heard the some of the bikes that had camo first put on them a few years back scratched and chipped off pretty easy. Can anyone comment?
98chevy
The older ones faded and chipped. The newer ones we have put threw heck and back. It hides the scratches better then like green or black. I rub against trees on my rhino frequently and havent got any chips ot scratches
