Guest Horton4life
I was just wondering how often you scent free wash your hunting clothes for how many times you hunt in them? Do you wash them every time, or maybe every other time and spray yourself with scent block?
RangerClay
My outer clothes get washed at the end of season unless I sweat a lot in them. My shirts and long underwear get washed every weekend in special detergent.
Brad6639
It depends how much I sweated and or got them contaminated with scent. I will ussually wash them after 3 hunts, or maybe a weekends worth of hunting. If I know i sweated at all, even a little bit, I wash them. You just cant be too careful. Rhino
With the exception of my charcoal lined, scent absorbtion suits, all my other cloths get washed after a day of hunting. If I sweat during a morning or afternoon hunt those cloths go in the to be washed pile when I come in from that hunt.
BearClaw
Same here. It depends how much I sweat. Inner layers get washed pretty often, most of the time after every hunt. Outer ones depends. My fall coat which is a little lighter and subject to seat gets done as necessary. My winter outers at the end of the season. You're right, doesn't hurt to be too careful. You spend all that time practicing, planning, setting up, etc. why take a short cut and blow it when it just takes a little time to be sure. wtnhunt
My warm season clothing obviously gets washed more frequently, but I only wash it as much as I have to. My cold gear parka and bibs only get washed once a season unless something happens that they need washed more.

I've got quite a few shirts, so I pretty much have a clean one every time I go out. I wear bibbers most of the time and will wash them if I've gotten hot. My jackets and insulated stuff usually get it at the end of the season then sprayed down with fresh earth and put away. This year I'll do the scent away without the fresh earth b/c I've got scent lok now and don't want to contaminate. When it's hot and I'm not wearing the cabon, I'll bathe in fresh earth scent. And carry a small bottle with me to "Freshin up".

Dogg6
I'm about the same as grizz109. My outer clothes get washed before season and put in an airtight tote. Something else I do, is after each hunt I spray my clothes down with scent killer before putting them back in the tote. This has worked for me quite well. Flintlock1776
At least do this! Regardless of the brand of camo or camo scent free soap to make your camo really last do this: Turn all your clothing inside out. This will protect the 'finish' of the camo material from the abrasions of the wash and dryer tumbling:D
Bowtech_archer07
I wash my hunting clothes once before the season, and then if it's hot i'll wash them once every week or two, if i get blood on them, then I will wash them. And I spray down before I head to the timber as well.
Nut
Just make sure you wash down your archery equipment also.

Guest bowtechhunter
Dont buy junk If you dont buy junk you can save yourself some time with your gear. By junk I mean scent control sprays that really don't do much to help you (you local walmart is full of them). (Not bashing any moderator, just my view) 100 days a year of hunting, I have alot of gear. If you buy a quality spray doesn't cost any more than junk stuff, you can go a while without having to wash it, as long as you aren't out jogging in the stuff. I use scent control sprays and detergents that (A) bond with odor molecules rendering them odorless, and keep doing it after drying, and (B) contain activated carbon to leave behind to clean up the dirty work. The one's I use are Xtreme scents, and Scent Gorilla. If you spray down with one of these scents on the outside AND INSIDE of your gear, you can get a few days hunting out of each, and stretch it by spraying again if you have to, if your on a wilderness hunt or something. Scent Gorilla's a great small company with some killer stuff that works. I know they have some stuff on eBay, I can get it locally, but I think only in the South. I use alot of carbon gear, and good spray helps keep it absorbing. Refuse to Follow.
Brad6639
If you want to hawk products, go to a deer show or something like that. You have very few posts, (6), and 3 of them (that Ive seen) are all hawking this product. We dont tolerate spam here. P.S. Scent away and Scent killer do work, the proofs in the puddin! We dont like brand bashing here!

dbHunterNY
Depends I used to wash my clothes with regular detergent (every three days) then keep my clothes (not carbon lined) hung outside under cover to air out, then pack them in a storage bag with boiled pine needle spray (everyday). Then I got soap made from goat milk made by a local women that was anise scented. So I stored my clothes everyday in a bag with that. I also used scent killer or scent-a-way spray. Now for this season I've finally gotten scent blocker camo, carbon wash detergent, HS wafers, and other stuff. I have to develop a routine and then I guess I'll see how things go. - Dan
