Guest ace
Guys and gals, I am looking for a new treestand and I need some advice from my fellow hunters. I weigh about 250, probaly 265 including gear. I am interested in a climber that will allow movement and provide a reasonable amount of comfort. Please advise an ol country boy from the appalachias! Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Summit Goliath, or pretty much anything Summit!! Very comfortable. I have taken a nap or two in mine . I'm not big on heights, but I feel comfortable enough in mine to where I can get up 20 feet or more if need be. Welcome to the forums also! JimT
I use a Summit Viper for bow season and a TreeLounge for rifle season. Both are very cozy....

The Goliath is a bit bigger than the Viper that I've got and would probibly be a lot more comfortable and easier to use for a guy your size. Summits are very comfortable, easy to use, quiet and safe. wtnhunt
Welcome to the forums. Another satisfied summit user here. Comfortable stands and they are fairly quiet.
rhine16
I'm gonna tell you to go a different route and buy a Gorrilla. I've never used anything else, but I would think that they are one of the most comfortable and easiest to use there is.

Smitteken
The biggest deer hunter I know is about 6' 4" 300 + he hunts out of the loggy bayou mega transformer. The summit goliath is a sweet stand too. Good luck, be safe...
Guest grunt0331
I'd go with the Summit Goliath. Big stand, fairly light to carry in and very comfortable.

Guest WIsportsman
I like my API stand, Grand Slam Extreme. Sometimes it is too comfortable, I have also caught a good late morning nap in it. 300 lbs capacity and you can add gun rest and other features. http://www.apioutdoors.com/62750.html?cmid=api_62750

Guest antlerhead
i use an api grand slam extreme for about 13 years and love it. its simple and comfortable. like some others i dont really like heights but in my climber i feel safe and usually hunt between 20-30 ft. high. if i had to buy a new one i might give a summit a try they look like they would work well also. but they are a tad more expensive. and i like to stick with what works for me. i would not reccomend a cheap steel climber, i have tried them and you dont know what your missing if you dont have a good one and they are quite a bit heavier. 7 or 8 lbs. more doesnt seem like alot but when you have quite a distance to cover it really shows. Guest gunny97
tree stand for big guys take a look at the Gunslinger by JRH. i bought one last year and by far it is more comfortable than anything i ever sat in. its like sitting in a lounge chair. im 6'2 260 and they make one for up to 300 pds. lots of leg room and gun rest and bag for stuff . all aluminum and light. goes up easy and silent. i go high when i can and this thing is awesome and i get some great shots and naps too. hunt safe
Guest bigalt78
grand ol man i have a grand ol man tree stand and i love that thing. i think it is a great stand. but grand ol man isnt the name no more gorilla makes the same stand now and they call it the grey back. a lot of people underestimate this tree stand. if you set it up right and strecth out that netted seat it is one of the most comfortable tree stands i have ever used and the safest.
