Jorden
The Primos Buck Roar vs. the M.A.D. Buck Growl...has anyone used either of these and how well do they work
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I bought the buck growl last year, had mixed results, one deer just looked around for a second, put his head back down and went back to feeding and eventually worked his way into the corn field. The other experience I had was up in the upper peninsula on the opening day of gun season. Hit it a couple times and heard some trashing around and then seen a deer coming in. Everytime I hit it he would jump around, it really got him going, but he never got close enough for a shot. A couple weeks ago I picked up the buck roar to try this season. IMO, the primos is much better. The M.A.D. call is OK, great for just regular grunts, but if you blow to hard into it, it'll make a sound like a duck call...the primos one, I blew as hard as I could and it still made the same roar/growl sound it is intended to, but just made it LOUD. The snort wheeze on it, and the strap it comes with to put it on your arm are great additions overall it is well constructed.

M00N
I personally like the Primos one better than the MAD one. I just like the sound and ease of function better on it and have always had a preference towards Primos calls. As far as the whole "growl/roar" sound I feel a grunt works just as good and am not sold on that sound being that much more useful than a grunt is. However, even with that, if I was looking for just a grunt I still would picked up the Primos Buck Roar. It's a very nice call that has a lot of uses. Can roar, grunt, or snort-wheeze with it and it's easy to use and easy to carry around.
