I'm just going throught the same thing on a Legacy I bought. It's 28.5 . and I need 27.5 draw length. I was told that all you needed to change was the cam. The idler wheel, string and cables are still the same. I couldn't find a used cam. My local shop ordered one this afternoon. Good luck with the bow.

Just change the cam. Everything else will work. I believe new cams are around $50-$60. Might be worth looking into a new if you have to pay $30 for one that may have nicks, burrs or could be bent.

Also, make sure you give the bow a good once over. Check the limbs real good for any nick or hair line cracks. Ask the owner if the bow has ever been dry fired and what weight arrow he was using. His total arrow weight should amount to no less than 5gr per lb pf draw weight. shooting too lite of an arrow is the equivalent of a dry fire.

Also, ask him how the bow was pressed when worked on. If the person working on the bow did not back the poundage down on the limbs it could cause damage. I said, could not probably.

One more thing to keep in mind, Mathews warranty is not transferable and is only good for the original owner.

I have a friend that bought a used Mathews from a dealer and he hasn't had any trouble getting things replaced on it. He even had his son dry fire it and crack a limb and they replaced it for free.
