Bachflock
Just had a thought. I've been getting things together for my .410 to get my wife hunting if she wants and never thought about picking up some slugs for coyotes. What you think? I've been kicking around getting out there but the only rifle I have that'd be legal to shoot in MI for coyotes is a .30-30. If you had to choose one, which would it be? .30-30 or a .410 with slugs? WaCoyote
30-30 with hard bullets. A .410 would be a waste of time IMO. I'd choose a 12 gauge over both to be honest.
Hardwood_HD
i would think the 30-30 would leave some major pelt damage, but on the otherhand you wouldnt be able to shoot very far with a 410 effectivly either, if you not saving the hides go with the 30-
wtnhunt
Of those two options, the 30-30. Not worried about pelt damages here, just want the yotes thinned out.
RangerClay
If I had to choose between the two, I would pick the 30-30. But I must admit that loading up a Winchester 9410 with slugs does sound like fun.

jason_thacker
i was wondering if my 20g would be a good gun for yote hunting
Guest bow_hunter101
I'd go with the .30-30. I've heard that they don't tear up the pelt all that bad. I shot one last year with a .50 muzzeloader last year and it didn't mess up the pelt too bad. Any shotgun with a slug would be more than enough to take down a coyote, you just lose alot of range when comparing to a rifle.
