.410 w/slugs for coyotes?

Just had a thought. I've been getting things together for my .410 to get my wife hunting if she wants and never thought about picking up some slugs for coyotes. What you think? I've been kicking around getting out there but the only rifle I have that'd be legal to shoot in MI for coyotes is a .30-30. If you had to choose one, which would it be? .30-30 or a .410 with slugs?

I'd go with the .30-30. I've heard that they don't tear up the pelt all that bad. I shot one last year with a .50 muzzeloader last year and it didn't mess up the pelt too bad. Any shotgun with a slug would be more than enough to take down a coyote, you just lose alot of range when comparing to a rifle.
