Me an my buddy went out dove huntin on saturday to a field we've killed quite a few out of this year and they have pretty well stopped flyin in there. We left early cuzz we wasnt seein many doves I had killed 2 and he hadnt killed any. We decided to go ride around and look for deer and we were driving past a little briar thicket with a bunch of little trees and we saw about 50 doves come in and light in the trees. We decided to park and get out and hunt this little open area between the thicket and the woods and in about 30 minutes we had both killed our limit i killed 13 and my buddy killed 15 we saw about 500 doves light in.in just like 30 minutesand we could hear doves all out through the thicket when we first got out so there was already a bunch there. I think were gonna go back there this evening so ill post again and let everyone know how we did.

It's actually not public land one of my good friends uncle's own the thicket and the little grassy open area where we were set up and I have permission to hunt on his land. Also all the doves I've been seein have been scattered to but we got lucky and found a spot where they were goin to roost. Me and my buddy are suppose to hunt there this evening but who knows they may not even be there by now.

Sorry to hear that everyone season isnt that hot, weve been tearing them up on a cut silage field. Me and my uncle have been trying a little different approach, we made dove sillhouettes and have been getting them to decoy real nice with the aid of a mojo. If anyone hasnt tried shooting decoying doves give it a shot, its like shooting at teal on speed but theyre even smaller. They usually wont actually land, but just speed right through on the deck, it makes for some really challenging shooting and its deifnantly a great workout for duck and goose season

I mowed down some foxtail and sunflower the other day, still no luck with the doves. I think most of the residents migrated.

We use the mojo, we have 4 of them, and it sure is fun to watch the doves react to them.
