Re: Mike Gundy just named Head Coach...

This caps off the two most horrible weeks for my sports teams.

1. OSU losed to Gonzaga.

2. OSU gets stomped by the Buckeyes.

3. The Bills miss the playoffs.

4. LA trades Shawn Green to the Diamondbacks for prospects and cash.

5. Les Miles leaves for LSU.

6. And the cherry on top of the cake....this.

Guys, I pray I'm wrong, but I think we are messing up. There's got to be someone else. Heck, Mike Price might even leave UTEP......!!!

MCH--Mike is a great recruiter. Hopefully his coaching skills have improved over the years working with Miles. You had to give him a chance--he has a lot of potential and strong recruits to work with. I think it will work out fine!

It has been a tough 2 weeks for Poke fans.

Mike's a decent recruiter, I'll give him that. But he's not the best recruiter on the team(DeForest, I believe).

I just don't think he's the "best" man for the job. They didn't even test the waters!

The majority of the "great" programs in college football don't recruit from within. The odds are better with proven talent.

Ask yourself this: Is Mike Gundy one of the best assistant coaches in college football? grin.gif.

The Pokes are my team...no matter what....I just feel they're making a mistake.

MCH---i just heard about that also---that is a huge loss for OSU but I think Seymore Shaw will do a great job. However, that might help up recruit a top running back to OSU.

With Morency gone I see Reid the starting quarterback (which i am sure would happen anyway) and Woods lining up in the backfield a bunch.

A lot of "ifs" for next year for sure!

Re: Mike Gundy just named Head Coach...

Todd---Yeah, but could you imagine Reid and Morency on offense? That would be great. Morency stacked up the yards without a passing game. Imagine what he could do with Reid throwing the long ball.(assuming Reid can complete 20+ passes grin.gif)

Shaw's competent but he doesn't have the versatility of Morency.

Oh well, maybe he won't get an agent and won't get drafted till the 5th round.... grin.gif

"I'm a man...I'm 40!!"

This guy is something else.:D

muggs--I think he's 41 now:D

and a Coach that his players have a lot of respect for and are playing extremely hard. If you look at it from a recruiting standpoint OSU should be a top 30 team--not a top 10 team. Coaching must have a little to do with it.
