mule659
I am hunting in an urban type area in a wooded area behind a friends house. Every morning there are deer that move down an old dirt road that runs through the woods about 7:00. There is trees close enough to the raod they use to set up a stand in there so I constructed a blind of brush and fallen branches and whatnot. This morning just as always a big doe was on her way down the dirt road. As I turned and went to draw my bow another doe I had not seen caught my movment and blew at me and I froze behind on of my branches. She tried to figure me out for a good 15 minutes and walked up to ten yards but could not make me out or smell me ( the wind was perfect ) she knew something wasn't right and kind of trotted the opposite way taking the other 3 deer with her. She blew several times and was pretty tense but never actually ran just trotted off. Should I wait a couple days or do you think it will be ok to go back in now? I know people walk or drive down this trail from time to time and are always running into deer back there but I really dont know what to do. wildthing
I would say she was alerted by your image, but not spooked. If you know nobody else will be in the area...maybe give it a day. Otherwise...I think you may be ok...especially if the deer are use to people in the area periodically...you might also run into different deer moving through the area too. I have spooked deer on the way to my stand...and have had them come back 15 mins later into shooting range. That is why whitetail hunting is so challenging! mule659
I know that nobody else will be in there hunting and I only go into that spot in the mornings due to work but I think I will give it a morning just to be safe. Missed160
I would leave it alone for a day or two, let em settle down & resume their old habits.
Guest adrenaline_junky
I'd wait a day or two just to let everything calm down. Good luck to you for the rest of the season.

They don't sound too spooked, so give it a day, just to be sure.
mule659
Well I went in there this morning because I wont be able to hunt there the next two days...sure enough she came in with the little ones and a couple other does at 30 yards... didn't have a chance to get up the range finder and shot just high enough to not do any damage...I mean my arrow skipped off her back and flew off into the woods...no damage to her though. She ran a way and stopped and I could see she was just fine.
