Should of saved your money. I learned the hard way. I bought one of those last year and forgot to take it out with me. I made the same noise it makes by blowing into my hand and called a deer in close enough to shoot it with the bow.

So to answer your question...Yes, it will work now.

If your using it for dominance snort wheezes, use it in the pre rut to rut, and i your using it to clear a field out of deer before you walk into it, you can use it now. I had one cost me a nice 10 pointer last year when I tried blowing it as a last resort to come closer. He blew out of there like it wasnt even funny. I can see where it works, but it isnt a cure all and it will scare the heck out of small bucks.

I would personally wait until the rut. This is when the call would be most effective but give it a shot never tried. Let us know how it worked if you try it and good luck to ya.
