There are 743 references to the heart in the bible. In the time that I've had to read about 75 I've only seen 1 that referrs to the actual organ. The rest were like these. Would you like me to post all of them, or have I made my point?

Genesis 6:5

The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.

Genesis 6:6

The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.

Genesis 8:21

The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

Genesis 24:45

"Before I finished praying in my heart, Rebekah came out, with her jar on her shoulder. She went down to the spring and drew water, and I said to her, 'Please give me a drink.'

Genesis 34:3

His heart was drawn to Dinah daughter of Jacob, and he loved the girl and spoke tenderly to her.

Actually quite the opposite, I'm very comfortable sharing my beliefs. It's just that you seem so completely closed to accept obvious biblical truths I don't figure there is any point beating a dead horse. I agree! Maybe we both have been sent a Strong Delusion?

Do you believe the Heart does MORE than just Pump Blood?

Do you believe the Heart does MORE than just Pump Blood?
Your physical heart doesn't, no, but your spiritual heart does much more ;);) If we try to understand the spirit of man, in a physical sense, it ain't going to happen. The Human spirit, is not a physical entity, that can be measured, or looked at by human eyes. You'll have to put your spiritual goggles on to understand the secrets of the heart, the thoughts and inner secrets of a man, and the God given life that flows through our veins.

Why do you think Jesus shed blood is so precious ? It's not just sticky red stuff, with red and white corpuscles in it. It has all the sins of the world in it and you will never see those through any man-made microscope.

You'll need the help of the Holy Spirit to see in the spirit.

Great verses there John ;)

It seems of 150 posted, number 31,32, 135 and maybe 124 would be the physical heart. The other, most people of intelligence would interpret as the blending of the intellect, desire and the soul of of man. There are several passages about the heart of God. Do you think God has a physical heart? I don't believe He needs one.

I think you are grasping at thin air on this one.

artificial-heart-abiocor-hand.jpgThis my friend is a Artifical Heart. Do you believe a man can be saved with one? Can he have the Holy Spirit in his Heart? Too me when we talk about the Heart it means MUCH More that just the Pumper, I think of the Mind, Emotions, However so many people who say they believe in their Heart they are saved, can tell why? Salvation is a Taught thing, not something better felt than TOLD!

Adminstrators often lock or close threads that have become unproductive dribble, going in no direction or have become too heated and the participants need to cool off. Sometimes it is necessary and sometime I don't agree with them. However as the moderator of the page they have the right and ability.

You yourself said that you are uneducated. Maybe you should go back and question not the beliefs you hold, but why you believe them. They bible makes some very clear truths that you are simply missing. When I became a Christian through the blood of Christ I decided rather than blindly following any denomination, I would research them, read the bible, study and pray. I found the Southern Baptist doctorine to be the most biblically sound and found thier worship style to my likeing, so I joined them. Do I believe everything they teach? No, the baptist church, like EVERY CHURCH was started or is ran on earth by men who make mistakes. When a preacher says something I don't agree with, I ask him why he believes it. If they can't adiquitely explain it, I tell them what I blieve and why. Then the next week I hope to hear something that I can dispute again. It's my nature, I just like a good debate. Probibly about 95% of sermans are very biblically sound that I hear and love going to a baptist church. I consider myself a baptist by choice and a Christain by the Grace of God. They are two completely seperate issues to me.

I believe that there are people of all Christian beliefs that have personal relationships with Jesus and we will see them in that great promissed land some day. I'll be glad to see them there. Will you?

Yes I read your post. Whether you mean to or not, you come across very closed minded and arrogant. Like the whole heart thing. You seem so stuck on an idea that you can't yield to the truth even when it's right there in your face. You really seem like you would be almost irritated if you died and saw anyone besides your church members in heaven. You have proclaimed yourself uneducated and yet come across as a know-it-all. You come into the forums as a new member and act (through your writing) as if you know all of us and our spiritual status. Most of us long time members know each other rather intimently and have been through many of these discussions. Though we may not agree on everything, we do respect each others opinions and agree to disagree as gentlemanly as possible. You have failed to do that sir. Questioning a man's salvation is a serious thing that we all take very personally. I have no right to question what is in your heart and you have none to question what is in mine (besides blood):p. You say you are 60 years old, but if I read your posts and it didn't say your age, I would guess late teens to early 20's by the thought that seems to go into what you say.

I'm sorry if this is offensive, but sometimes the truth offends.

You yourself said that you are uneducated.

John, John, Sigh....That's hitting a little below the belt don't you think?

Education has little to do with Reasoning, Understanding, Thnking, IQ, I get by.....LoL

With all Due respect to You and Buckee. This is what I believe you couldn't Defend or Defeat that Why I left Post, so the next best thing is to Delete it! Had you read that Post with an OPEN mind, you might just see your Err.

Here is what's sad about the Whole thing. There were 1400 Plus Views of that post. Why do you think that was? I'll tell you why, People here were wanting to see you put me in my place. But you can't, and I'll tell you Why again, because TRUTH is not on your side. Truth will never change, you can't change it and neither can I.

A Lot of the people are searching for TRUTH. I know Baptist Doctrine as well or better than you. It makes no sence. If allowed to stay here I show you more reason than this one why the Baptist teaching is in Err.

1. The education thing you brought up. How is bringing up your own statement hitting below the belt? Education does have a lot to do with being able to comprehend what something says.

2. My IQ has been tested 5 times and has run from 143 to 157. I think I can stand on that above my education.

3. I don't have a clue what your talking about with the "Why I left post" to be honest you had already lost my respect at that point and I didn't see a point in wasting my time reading it. Sorry but that's the way it is.

4. Never assume that you know more about doctrine than anyone. I studied different doctrines for 3 years before joining a church. I would venture to say I know most church's doctrines better than the vast majority of folks who've gone to them all their lives. And yes I've had numerous discussions with Church of Christ ministers about doctrine and find much of their beliefs biblically flawed. They too were too blind to see it.

5. Membership in the Baptist church has nothing to do with salvation, it has to do with book-keeping. Salvation is between us and God.

6. Through the Church of Christ a man can confess to the Lord and never meet membership requirements according to your church's doctrine (if that is your church) a man can go to **** because of a backlog in the clerical department. "Sorry Mr. Smith your gonna have to burn, we didn't have time to get you baptised before the crash" Yeah that makes since.

I stated in an earlier post that my sin is arrogance and pride. It seems we do have one thing in common.

Turkey Fife, maybe what you need to do is take a good long look at the thief on the cross beside Jesus.

No study

No church

No Baptism

etc

etc;)

Yes, but it was Christ there on the cross that saved him. He didn't need to ask for salvation because Christ gave it to him there. He also did repent while on the cross because Jesus told him he would be in pardise and in order to be there he would have had to have repented befor Jesus forgave him. He was with Christ at his death, therefor he was in church. When Christ was pierced by the spear some of the water hit the theif and he was baptised with water and the spirit.

That's the explination of a Church of Christ youth pastor that I know.

"Remember me" is what the thief said.

I believe that Jesus knew what the thief meant, He forgave him, saved him, and took him to paradise with Him. Sometimes I believe we try to put more into what the Word says then what is really there.

Bottom line the thief evidently had a repentive heart and the Word does say only God knows the heart of man!

That's right. Jesus knew the mans heart, and forgave him. Just goes to show you how powerful his Sweet Grace is/was. He may, or may not have even heard of Jesus, before that day. He most certainly didn't have time for study, and the scriptures weren't exactly readily available for reading back then . ;)

When Christ was pierced by the spear some of the water hit the theif and he was baptised with water and the spirit.
Ooooooooooooooooo K :D I guess that explains it then :D

Which verse is that found in ? ;)

3. I don't have a clue what your talking about with the "Why I left post" to be honest you had already lost my respect at that point and I didn't see a point in wasting my time reading it. Sorry but that's the way it is.

Wow..That about says it all, you are blinded and you are going to stay that way. Sorry, but a closed minded person can't learn anything. With a 150 IQ you would think you would know that:p

Buckee,

Turkey Fife, maybe what you need to do is take a good long look at the thief on the cross beside Jesus.

No study

No church

No Baptism

etc

etc

Just something to think about. (HOW DO YOU KNOW THE THEIF WAS NOT BAPTIZED?) John the Baptist was Baptizing Unto the remission of sins.

You cannot prove he wasn't anymore than I can prove he was. Its a MOTE point.

But, still I have MUCH to say about the Theif. First is that he will be in Heaven. Because Christ said he would!
