Hey everyone, just checking in. Hopefully everyone shows up, and let's get a name going . This year looks pretty promising for me, i went out last weekend in Wisconsin and seen three shooters (way out of range) in a bachelor group. I don't think i will see that the next time i go, but at least i know they are there. Next week i will be hunting opening day in Illinois and back up to Wisconsin that weekend. Good luck to those going out in the morning.

Hey everyone.. I should have a good season too. I've got the Ross 331 all tuned up and ready to rock. I have 21 days from today until it's time to go kill. Opening day is October 13th here in NY.

Been watching some nice 3.5 year olds this summer along with a bunch of really nice 2.5 year olds. But I'm out for blood this year. Any deer that walks by me is gonna get an arrow through the lungs.

I look forward to getting out in the stand and taking as nice a deer as I can - now that I'm part of a team, I'm even more motivated to get a good one and add to the team's score! Our season starts October 1, but I'll really sit more often closer to rut. We had a little 6 come through the yard, but it's usually all of our does that bring in the nicer bucks come rut.

Good luck to all, and I'm glad to be part of the team!

i just want to remind ya'l that this a contest true, but getting to talk to and get to know one another doing what we love is just as important as trying to get a big deer for a score, some of us might not get one or a big one but as long as were haveing a good time thats all that matters. so if any one of us dont get one this year there shouldnt be no bad mouthing about not contributing to the team [ok]

Sounds great to me! I just joined the forums in June and have really enjoyed meeting some wonderful folks here. I've never been part of a hunting "contest" before, so I greatly appreciate your note about keeping the emphasis on having a good time and getting to know other sportsmen and women out there.

So, what will team 4 members be hunting with - gun or bow? Bow for me (with an Exturkinator arrow). :)

May I suggest 'Death From Above' as our team name?

That's an idea. I was thinking about it a little bit, too, and wondered about somehow including the number 4 (as we're team 4), only it would read as "for". Like, Team 4 the Hunt (Team for the Hunt) or One 4 the Team (One for the Team).

Just a thought - whatever we all decide upon will be fine with me!

Interesting - I took a peek at our individual profiles and noticed that a number of members have New Year's Eve birthdays! We could be Team Ball Drop!

checking in

hi everyone, just checking in to that you know I'm here. The season opens up here this saturday so I've been busy hanging stands and pulling scouting camera's. I've see some good bucks here for PA deer. The last three years I've taken a 146 ten point, 132 eight point, and a 135 eight point last year so I can get it done. I'll be hunting Ohio this year too so double the chances. Good luck to everyone!

Hey team, glad to see everyone is here. I will be bowhunting and shotgun in Illinois and bowhunting and rifle in Wisconsin. To me gun hunting is not the same feeling as having a bow in my hand so i really won't shoot anything but a doe if i haven't harvested a deer yet, or it has to be a monster buck. I have a muzzle loader permit for Illinois but i rather bowhunt thru it. Thinking of names, i was thinking of Team 4 Legs Down. I will try to come up with some more if we don't vote on any other by then. Hey HuntnMa, congrats on your photo for the contest , it was a cool pic.

Ohh baby.. I can feel it.. It's almost here. Two weeks from today and I'll be sitting in my favorite oak tree waiting on either a big fat doe or a good buck to waddle on by.

Went and did some scouting yesterday while squirrel hunting and found a TON of rubs and some scrapes. Also, it rained hard and was really windy here yesterday for about 20 minutes. After the rain, I went to my girlfriends house ( which is only a quick walk through the woods ) and saw a big 8pt making a rub and a doe just mulling around.

Also been getting video of a smaller 8pt but still a shooter. I'm out to get my first buck this year, but that doesn't mean I won't shoot 4 does. I have 4 tags for this year. 2 doe permits and two either sex tags.

The bow is all tuned up and ready to kill. Just gotta get the camo in the wash, air it out and count down.

But fall turkey opens on Monday and I'll be out for them on the 6th and 7th and probably the 8th because we have off from school.

Well team went out Saturday which was the opening day here in PA. I passed on 5 does and a small 6 point. Just wasn't something I could shoot on the first day. The weather is getting a little cooler so hopefully it will make the deer move a little better. Good luck to you all.

So, what do folks think about a team name?

We have my stand in a new spot this year, and I'm really excited to see what will come through the area. Nice swamp close by and a beaten-down track as well. I won't get out until maybe one evening this week but most likely not until the second weekend in October.

Let's decide a name!
