woho give a shout out for my Team Members out there..

im just checking in. looks like some familiar members on this team that i know. i will enjoy getting to know those of you i dont know as well.. i have my journal up already. feel free to post there. i will post each day i hunt.

as most of you know im a doe killer from way back and im a pretty picky son of a gun for a buck. my season starts on oct 1st and goes until Jan 10th. i will be using bow exclusively unless i get desperate and have to breeakout my Muzzleloader during late season.. i will be hunting primarily mornings which is not normal for me. but i feel i have some good spots to pick off a doe and hopefully a trophy buck.

good luck to our team.

Tom here, looks like we have a pretty strong team!

Bow season starts Sept 29 (next Saturday) here in Ohio, and I'm not holding back on the does. Hope another wall hanger like last years buck comes along again for me.

Good luck all, looking forward to sharing some and making some new hunting memories with the rest of you guys and gals. ;)

I'll be heading to North Carolina to hunt with the Hunters Helping Kids, Inc. program, so I'll hopefully be able to take a deer over there, too. Good luck to you guys, lookin forward to getting to know everyone :)

Hey everybody I went and put us on the board this morning. I had this doe come in from behind and milled around my stand for twenty minutes. She never had a clue I was there. Had to wait awhile to get the drop on her. 8 paces from the tree and the Razorcap hit a home run.:D She only went forty yards. Field dressed at 110.... More pics on the entry thread!

Anyone thinking of a name for our team? Looking forward to getting to know everyone. There is a lot of hunting ahead for me and I hope there is a lot for all of you. Looks like a good team for sure. Good luck everyone!

way to go ruttinbuc. just like you to get us on the board pretty quick. i have to wait out these last 7 days with anxiety and anticipation.

names for a team?

Team Guys and Gals

Team Woodland Wanderers

lets try and find a unique name instead of the traditional Buck Busters or Horn Hunters.:D

im actually have a day off tomorrow. i have just worked the last 19 days straight.so im going to shoot some and go pick up a deer cart at Scheels in Des Moines. i have stands set up a lot further than i have ever set them before. i need a cart to haul the deer out. this is going to be my toughest year yet, since i will be hunting mornings and since i will be hunting all new spots but one.

Al is here to check in.

Nice start for the team ruttinbuc...congrats.

Congrats to you too ladydiehard on your doe. Great start teammates

I've been up to my ears in alligators trying to get our hunting club ready so that's where I've been since last Tuesday afternoon. My main compadre had a minor stroke last weekend so I was sort of on my own with one helper to get 40 of our hunting club's 46 food plots planted down here. The other 6 were planted in summer forage so they are still good until late October or so. I did manage to get those plots all planted in 3 days on a tractor from daylight to dark. Now I know I don't ever want to be a farmer. The rain came the following day so all looks well down here. :D The only chore I have left now is to clean our skinning shed and wash out our walk in cooler to be ready to start cleaning deer next Monday. ;).

All my early season bow stands were set before Labor Day so I'm good to go. Don't be surprised if I don't wack a hog or 2 if the opportunity comes though to get some payback for the moon craters they left me to run a tractor through in some of the food plots.

Bow season starts on Oct. 1st so I'll be out of touch from this coming Saturday until somewhere around the 8th.

Band of Hunters is fine with me.

Same here.

Good luck to you Tom and to all of the rest of the team too.

I'm heading out Thursday evening to finish a few chores Friday and help my buddy that recently had a stroke Saturday and Sunday set up a few ladder stands. I'll be in the woods from next Monday (opening day) through at least the following Sunday.

Hey Y'alls!

Finally, after three years I get to be on the same team as Ruth! She's pretty deadly with that stick thing. Ohiobucks really knows how to lay'em down too. And way to get the show started Ruttinbuck and Ladydiehard! I'll have to check out your entries. This kind of reminds me of how my team started out last year. Lots of points early, then lost out at the end by one point after "some Texan" takes a jaunt to Mexico and bags a 10-pt.

Like Tony I'll be hunting "brown" deer this year. I've gone back to school and need to improve my chances of getting into the Radiology program. I've got two plots looking real good and I've encountered a nice 8-pt in the area. Plus, I'm going to the "Smackdown" again.

I can go along with "Band of Hunters" but was thinking since we have a real good mix of guys & gals on the team maybe we could call ourselves just that - "Guys & Gals" , or "Gals & Guys" (dosen't matter). Any thoughts?

And finally, what do y'all think of a team signature?

Hey gang, It is good to see us all keeping informed. Good luck to everyone who will be starting their season shortly. Our season started on the 8th of September, but 10 hour days and this stupid heat has kept me from really getting after it.

Rhino, A great thing you are doing for your buddy. Tell him a Band of Hunters wish him the best for a fast recovery.

I think a team signature would be pretty neat too, BuckNrut.

Got to get to work....
