tedicast Posted September 21, 2007 Report Share Posted September 21, 2007 Well...looks like I'm the first one here! I'm John, From CT. I hunt with bow, shotgun/rifle, and muzzle loader. My season started last saturday, and I'm confident I can at the minimum contribute 5 points. We don't have a lot of big bucks, and I will pass before I'll shoot a small buck, most of the time. rhine16 Posted September 22, 2007 Report Share Posted September 22, 2007 Hey, for the ones of you who dont know me, I'm Rhine(of course screen name says this.). I'm from central MS, definitely not the land of big bucks, but hey this thing is on points anyway. I mainly bow hunt, but will take rifle out a few times. My season does not start until Oct 1. I'm in college, which most people probably think i wouldnt have much time to hunt, but it is actually vice versa for me. I'm in a small junior college about an hour from my house, but we only go to school four days a week, and i'll probably come home at least one day every school week to hunt in the evening. Last year i did not post any points for my team, but not because i didnt see the deer. I passed on many smaller deer. This year the trail cams show a very promising season. We have a bunch of 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 year olds, which will all be passed with rifle, but they better not walk by in bow range. If you want to see more about how my season looks, check out my journal. drkillemquick Posted September 24, 2007 Report Share Posted September 24, 2007 Hey everybody. My name is Donnie. I bow hunt and shotgun hunt here in Ontario Canada. I am hoping to get out bowhunting in October(?), however I am getting married in just over three weeks, so that might be hard. I will be hunting the first week in November with the shotgun, and if I don't get anything then I will be bowhunting until the end of December. I have shot three eight points in the past four years, and there has been a couple REALLY nice bucks taken close to where I hunt so who Knows what might happen. However this year I broke my back in a tresstand accident so my season is limited. However with this being said Im will be leaving for maryland for a week starght of bowhunting action! I have two seperate farms to hunt in maryland and I just started hunting in florida. I also may hunt georgia. I am sure i will put some points on the board. I was lucky enough to harvest 3 bucks last year and a couple of does. So if last year is any indication as whats to come I am excited! I can say with some regret that I lost exclusive hunting rights to the property I hunt and now have to share with another 2 bowhunters and i tell you Its like my wife friend is cheating on me....lol. We're still waiting on Bucknut. I know last year there was a deadline for everyone to check in, and when they didnt you reported it and got a fill in. I'll send him a pm to make sure he knows. bucknut Posted October 2, 2007 Report Share Posted October 2, 2007 Well i hunted for the first time in Saskatchewan this weekend and im impressed to say the least, we didnt see a buck under 125 , the largest being a 160 class 5x5 that wouldnt come close enough for a shot. I also tried out my renzo buck decoy with little success, i never heard a doe snort so much,lol, she must have snorted for 10 minutes straight.. all in all it was an awesome weekend. Ill wont be getting out till the 20th of october again due to thanksgiving and a brad paisley concert.. well Good luck to everyone.. Bucknut! Mirage Posted October 4, 2007 Report Share Posted October 4, 2007 Hi Guys, I had went hunting last night and no luck. First time bowhunting in florida. I saw 2 oceola turkeys ! nice male with about a 7 inch beard. And 5 racoons. I aslo saw a doe and fawn but it was a qick glimpse and they were gone. All I can say is thank God i had a themacell!!.
