wtnhunt
Dont know about a team name Todd, but looks like we have a great team here. Our archery season opened here this morning, bumped a couple deer out of my bean plot on my way into the stand about an hour or so before legal shooting light. MUDRUNNER
Morning boys!Just checking in.Looks like we have a pretty solid team put together.I'm really looking forward to this season. Good idea on the intros Muff.I'm Tim.I live in south central Illinois and our season starts Oct.1.I'll be bow hunting, shotgun hunting, and muzzleloader hunting this season so hopefully I'll be able to put some points on the board. I hunt 2 properties. One is only 30 acres, but it's only 15 minutes from where I live.Lots of does and a few nice bucks. The other is 80 acres that's about 1 hour and 15 minute drive.I planted a food plot this year, and there are a decent number of big bucks on this property. If I get a big buck this year this will probably be the place it will happen. Here are 2 rut bucks that two guys in our group took last season from this farm. http://www.realtree.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/19646/ppuser/580 Good luck to everyboby that's hunting! MUDRUNNER
How about "The Bone Collectors" for a name? It's all I got so far..anyother ideas?
wtnhunt
Guess I will also do an intro. My name is William, I hunt all the open deer seasons here right behind our house on our farm. The "bone collectors" or "freezer fillers" does not sound bad. While throwing names out, maybe "antler assasins" or "antler addicts"? Shaun_300
Since there's four canucks on the team, how about something like "The Can-Am Antler Addicts" or Can-Am Buckinators"

MossySNPR
Yeaaaaaaaaa boys good line up! Its great to be back on the site right in time for the annual deer contest! I have to follow my fellow Canadians on this team name thing, Team #7 - CAN-AM BUCKINATORS Monday october 1st is D day for myself here in Ontario, going to stick to hunting fruit and mast baring trees until the pre-rut starts, then its serious game time. I have a buck tag, a doe tag , a muzzle loader tag for the week long december muzzleloader hunt, and access to more tags if I need them. MUDRUNNER
Sounds like we have a winner!Can-Am Buckinators sounds just fine to me. Not sure if I'll get to hunt at all opening week.My wedding anniversary and little boys first birthday are within the next few days, but it looks like it's going to be hot anyways.Hopefully by the second week in October things will start to cool down and I plan on hitting it pretty hard.Good luck to anybody that's hunting next week! wtnhunt
Really thought I was going to get us on the board this morning. Third time out so far for this year and it was an absolutely beautiful morning here. Clear sky, temp was perfect at about 48 when I walked out, and just a light easterly breeze which was just the right wind for the stand I hunted. Heard a lot of dogs kind of close, and some movement a bit deeper in the woods that I never could make out pretty early on. Ended up having 2 youngsters come through in a hurry on a trail 15 yards deeper in the woods from me about 8:15. There was a plane take off just within a few minutes before these deer came through, not sure if they got bumped or the plane spooked them, but they never slowed down. Pretty sure more deer moved through a short while later, but could not see the trail they were on from my stand, was just over the hill, and still too much foliage to see through. Thought for sure some does would come through on the same trail or on the edge of the woods closer to me, but no luck.
Wimpy
Saw 3 does my first day out.Nice to be back in the stand again.
wtnhunt
Definitely a better weekend here than the opening weekend, saw deer everytime I went out. Watched 5 does Sunday morning early pass through the end of our recently planted brassicas and winter wheat plot. They fed their way towards me, but never got closer than 70 yards before heading into a brush pile.

MUDRUNNER
Looks like I'll be able to sneak out for a few hours tomorrow after work!Still supposed to be warm, but a weak front is supposed to push through tomorrow morning so hopefully the deer will be moving a little more than they have been.
