MUDRUNNER
How's everyone been doing in the deer woods? I went out last night and got skunked again.Everything seemed prefect, but a coyote came busting through with about a half hour of light left.Between that and the kids riding 4 wheelers on the property just north of me I guess nothing was coming my direction.I'm going out again tomorrow morning and hopefully wrap my tag around some horn.Good luck this weekend boys! wtnhunt
Was a pretty good morning here, will post the full story and get pics and or video up later, did get my shot on tape, but did not get much footage prior to the shot. Whacked a good body sized buck this morning with the ml on about a 120 yard shot. He was pretty hot on a young doe that I managed to call away from him with a grunt from the other end of the field. The buck had 5 points on the main frame, no real brows and had a 1.25 inch kicker off one base. Eleven more points for our team.
mo_hunter
My son got his first deer last weekend during the youth season. Shot him with a 22-250 at sixty yards, perfect shot deer only went 60 yrds. This 8 point buck was working his last scrape. Scope hit my son between the eyes and we had alittle bleeding. Didn't seem to bother him at all. He was one happy boy and I'm one proud dad. Sunday morning my step daughter age 11 shot her first buck (2nd deer) with her dad the next morning. The beginning of some very good hunters.
MUDRUNNER
Nice to here things are picking up!Congrats tp all the succesfull hunters! Went out Saturday morning and didn't see a thing.I did find a few fresh scarpes by one of my stands that I put my trail camera on.Now that time has changed I won't be able to get out after work during the week.I'm going back to the farm that I shot the does on next weekend, and the following week is our shotgun season so I'll be spending quite a bit of time on the weekends in the stand for the next few weeks. dogdoc
congrats to everyone who has harvested so far. I'm having a tough season so far. I've only had a shot on a small fork horn with the bow but passed on him. My deer are still very nocturnal and the temps are still very warm. Hopefully they will start moving shortly. todd

MossySNPR
Whuddapppp dudes... haven't reported for awhile. I didn't see the buck I was after at all bowhunting, although his sign is still there. He has yet to come out of his nocturnal routine for that time of season, visiting his scrapes in the cover of darkness! Shotty just opened on monday, and I have been out with the boys in the club all mornings, lucky I am on afternoons this week! Monday a fella we didn't know was 80 yards behind a bros stand and dropped a monster canadian 8 point. I got to take a look at the buck, it was very nice, since I can't even remember this dudes name I can't gewt a picture lol. Tuesday I had 2 big country does traveling with a fawn, rangefound at 31 yards , my scentlok worked absolutely perfect. They crossed my entrance path as they fed around my stand a couple times and continued off into a bushline at 70 yds. Nothing today but a wet rump and some jerked fellas! rained all mornin here got so bad we had to call it quits at 8. Keep truckin boys I got a huge deer drive day tomorrow with another group of our club members.

MUDRUNNER
Congrats! That's a great buck!Looks like were starting to turn the heat up! I went out Saturday morning and seen some good movement.I had a shooter about 60 yards and tried everything to call him in but he didn't pay any attention and just kept on his path.I did see 4 does and another forky so I was pleased with the activity. My cousin had a 140 class chasing does by him but never got a shot so things are looking good for next weekend. I tried last week bowhunting to grunt, rattle, bleat with the can to couple bucks with no luck most times. I did have a 10 point run in behind me at 20yrds looking right at me while rattling last Wed eve, busted with rattle bag in hand. After I froze for a couple minutes he walked around my right side and away with no shot. I thought it would be nice to have a doe decoy with alittle smell good on her tail. wtnhunt
Good luck. Rifle opener here is this weekend, not sure yet if i am going or the wife is going though. Trying to get a sitter so we can both go. Hoping to upgrade soon, deer should be moving good if the temps cool back down Saturday morning like they are supposed to. We will have 5 days of hunting around the Thanksgiving holiday and they are giving our first chance of snow the Friday night after Thanksgiving, things should really pick up. Saw a roadkill monster just out of town that was laying in the median, looks like the big boys are probably cruising in this area now, maybe just maybe a good one will cruise the river bottom at the right time. Shaun_300
Well, I'm on the board! Nothing too big though, I shot a wounded fawn on Monday. Wouldn't have shot the poor thing if it wasn't previously hit in the rear end by someone else. One of the other guys made a poor shot on it and it ran out to me about an hour later. Not sure if it would have died or not. Anyway, I did the right thing and put it out of its misery, at least it's not running around the bush suffering. I'll post pics up later on.
