Saw a young 10 point and a 6 point over the weekend. Neither were shooters. Passed on a 10 yard shot on a turkey since they decided to show up right at the prime deer hunting time. Won't get to hunt this weekend. I've got my final bass tournament of the year to fish. Gun season opens Nov 3 and I'm planning a 4 day weekend for that.

Well fellas, I had my chance this weekend and blew it.:(

Had a hoss of a buck come in at about 17 yards and shot smooth over his back. This is the biggest buck I have seen in my 13 years of hunting. He was a dandy!

At about 7:15 saturday morning I grunted about 5 times real soft, I am posted up on a scrape line, and about 5 minutes later he appears.............hearts a pumpin', breathin' hard, finally calmed down enough to draw back, but forgot to aim lower than usual, so when I released it..........right over his back, I don't think he ever saw me or even knew I was there so hopefully he'll be back this comin weekend.

Good luck to every one else!

Saskbrute WAY TO GO!!!!!!!! Nice buck!!!!

Well guys, I have kinda let ya'll down. Two weeks ago I shot a doe, and forgot to get picks of my tag, and I don't have it anymore either. Sorry gang. We still got ALOT of season left, so I will make sure to get a copy of the next one.

This weekend had to ahve been the best I ahve EVER had as far as seeing deer. Friday on the way down saw a decent buck on the side of the road, not sure of size, but a good one nonetheless. Sat morning found me in an area heavy with deer, and I wasn't dissappointed. Saw 2 spikes, 1 buck with a busted antler, 5 does, and a buck chasing a doe. That was a first for me. Sat night let a small buck pass. Sun morning at daybreak had what I think two bucks chasing a doe, got as close as 40yds, but I was on the ground, and not poisitioned for a shot. Ended up seeing about 7-8 deer that morning. ML is closed, but rifle picks up in two weeks, and I plan on going back in there to hunt.

This past weekend was unsuccessful for me. Early Saturday morning I had two dogs run a deer right by the tree I was in.

I think someone was in there running these dogs. Didn't see anything else the rest of the day. BUT my brother ended up shooting the buck I missed last weekend. Look in the bowhunting catagory there's a pic of him there.

Until next time..............hogdawg.

shot a doe boys.....:D

WTG SRA!

Man, these temps are something else. We had 85 both Sat and Sun. I'm seeing a few bucks, but they're mostly the young and dumb ones. I got so disgusted Sunday afternoon that I put my rifle up, pulled out the shotgun and went and blasted a limit of quail. I don't usually start quail hunting until mid-December, but I figured deer hunting was a waste of time. And the long range forecast only calls for a few degrees of cool down. We're still looking at highs in the 70's right through the Thanksgiving weekend.
