All right guys and gals. I think I have the perfect name. A name that even Andrea would agree with.:D

And forgive me, Andrea, if this name was used in prior contests....actually that may be why I thought of it???:D

Anyway, without further delay......our new team name is....................

Beauty and The Bowhunting Beasts!!!!

Well???? Good, huh???

:D:D

Kevin, I've never seen your picture, so I'm not sure how beautiful you are exactly.........

I'm appalled. Appalled that you would think I am that vain. It saddens my heart to think that you would even contemplate me calling myself a "beauty".

Anyway, I was talking about Jeramie.

:D:D

Well went out this evening for the opening day of bow season in Illinois and has an exciting, but disappointing hunt. Was up in a tree along the edge of a field that leads down to a bean field. The edge of the woods is full of white oaks and there are a ton of nuts. Well around 5:15 i picked up movement in the field about 75 yds away. It was three mature does and 2 yearlings. they finally started down the fence and got to within about 15yds eating white oaks. Finally one of the mature does stepped out and I put my 20 yd pin right behind her shoulder and i let it fly. When i released, i could tell the shot was high, but right on its mark behind the shoulder. I saw and heard it hit, and she turned and kicked and ran off over the hill out of site. After the deer left the field I climbed down and looked at my arrow and NO BLOOD. The arrow had a few pieces of meat on it, but no blood what so ever. I must have just barely clipped her back or I hit just under the spine, but not low enough to hit vitals. Either way she's still running around the farm somewhere. And to make things worse my dad was sitting maybe 100 yds from me and he also missed a doe. Not a good opening day, but it was exciting to see and have deer around the stand.

And as far as a name goes, it doesn't matter to me. Anything works.

Saw three does and two fawns last night but didn't shoot any of them. It's pretty warm yet and I was in a stand that I know there a couple good bucks in that particular area.

Wind switched to out of the South today so I'll be heading to the other side of the farm where I saw two real nice bucks about a month ago. It's real windy today but there is a storm blowing in so hopefully that will get the bucks on their feet before dark this evening.
