slughunter
Going to the big management farm this weekend. Me and my grandpa are gonna have it to ourselves. We got 6 bucks that are over the 150 inch mark that we know of, so hopefully one of us gets a shot at one. We got 19stands set up at this point in the season so no matter what the wind will not mess up our hunting. Ill let you guys know how it goes. -shane
M00N
Well, looks like the majority of the members voted for signature #3. That was my favorite one, too. If nobody has any serious issues with signature #3 then we can use that one as the team signature. To get this image into your signature simply click the Insert Image button on the signature edit screen and paste this url into the pop-up box. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c92/rhynlim/Realtree/thwackmasters3.gif EDIT: Since, the forums auto-trims long URL's you will probably have to right click and choose Copy Shortcut or Copy Link Location (depends on if you use IE or Firefox on the terminology used) in order to get the true URL to the image. Then just simply paste it (CTRL+V) and it'll appear in full in that pop-up box. I wish there was some sort of bbcode enabled so I could have prevent the URL clipping to make this easier to get the URL distributed to team members, but there sadly isn't a [code] bbcode enabled on here anymore it seems. Guest Finn
Man, I got skunked last night First time I can remember sitting in that place that I didn't see 1 deer. Did see 3 grouse dorking around, so that was pretty cool. Hope to whack a doe this weekend. I start working on Monday, so would like to get something before then. M00N
Well, tomorrow is the opening day for archery season here. I highly doubt I'll make it out, but, if I do I'll let you guys know how it goes. Good luck to those of you out in the woods hunting already. I'm itching to get out there but having a slight set-back with broadhead tuning and may miss opening day to spend an extra day getting these broadheads flying straight or ditching them for another brand to try. M00N
Nope no luck here yet. Been very sick the past couple days. I have a stomach bug of some sort that was going around here... Going to try to get out this following Saturday for the day if I'm not still sick, the weather is good, and my hunting partner can get the day off work. So, hopefully I will be able to go this Saturday. I still have my 2-week archery hunting trip the end of this month, but I really want to get out at least once before then locally to give it a try. Guest Finn
Hey Nadine, hope you're feeling better real soon. With the new job, I haven't been hunting, but will get out Saturday and Sunday (maybe Friday) Have some great tracks in my front yard, so the house may become my best stand this late season. M00N
Well, I thought I was feeling better Friday so I went outside to shoot a little bit and it took me everything to pull the bow back and when I did I just felt so weak and couldn't steady myself at all. Seemed the bug I had really took a lot out of me. So, after talking with my parents decided it wasn't worth going out hunting while still sick and so weak. Plus it would never been fair to a deer for me to pull back and take a shot when I know I'm unable to hold my bow steady. Good thing I canceled my plans to go hunting Saturday. I woke up Saturday morning at 2am and was sicker than I was all week. I couldn't get out of bed and I think I only stayed awake a total of 6 hours yesterday. I'm feeling much better today, but still feel weak and am not going to push it any. Looks like it's time to break out the herbal remedies. I had enough of this bug. I think I may hold off going archery hunting until my planned 2-week trip that I have set aside. I just don't see reason to push myself in this muggy sweaty weather to go up a tree after some deer for a single day hunt and risk being sick during my 2-week archery trip. I think I'll just do a little squirrel hunting starting next weekend and just shoot my bow in the backyard and be fully prepared for my planned hunting trip and stick to that. It may drive me nuts to wait until the end of October to go archery hunting, but to me seems more logical to do. So, sorry guys guess I won't be able to get on the board until a few weeks from now at the earliest. I think a 2-week straight hunting period with only Sundays off is a good amount to give me a good chance at thwacking something with an arrow still. Plus I always have my 1-week rifle hunting trip in December, too.
