Guest tarbaby
I third Backstrap Fever. Hope everyones season is going good. I will finally be able to make it out this coming weekend. The temps have been in the 80's and this year I'm being extra safe by not even going into the area until it cools down. I hung all of my stands in July so I'm on edge just a waitin. The weekend after this coming I will be heading to the western part of Kansas. My girlfriends dad has a few places out there I can hunt for the couple of days I will be out their. Would like to try and stalk a mulie but if a nice WT comes by its gonna be on.

buckee
Signatures Hey, Everyone now has the ability to upload their sinatures, directly from your computer, instead of having to host them somewhere, and Everyone now has the 30k limit for their signature upload, (instead of 13.0 k) directly from your computer. Also, everyone now has the WYSIWYG editor, even if they did not before. They can change it back if they want, but everyone now has it. Everyone can thank Scott and Brittany (at Greyloon.com) Right click on the picture(signature) and "Save image as....". choose a folder somewhere in your computer to save it in, such as "My Pictures", which is found in "My Documents", so you know where to find it when you upload. Then go up to the toolbar in the forums and click on "User CP", and "Edit Signature" (upper left hand side in grey strip toolbar) Then scroll down to "Option 2 - Upload Image From Your Computer" and click on the "Browse" button. Then go to the folder you have the picture stored in and click on the picture. Then just click "Save Signature" . That should take care of your signatures. rad_112176
Hi guys. Congrats on the kills. I shot a small spike while in Michigan last weekend and i will get it entered either today or tomorrow. The area we hunt is way over hunted so anything goes up there. I was hoping this morning that i was entering something much bigger, but no luck. I shot a 130 class 8 pointer in IL this morning but had no luck in locating him. I gave him a few hours and when i tried to pick up the blood trail in vanished after about 100 yrds. The blood was a bright red color and there was a good amount to start off with. I am going back out tomorrow to walk some other areas next to the river to see if he maybe bedded up there. The shot was a quartering too shot and when my arrow penetrated just inside the shoulder i thought it was game over. I have been sick about it all evening. Maybe i can get lucky tomorrow and locate him. I will let you all know what i find.

SuperMn106
Hey guys, I walked numberous miles today trying to locate that buck but had no luck. I am not sure where he could have gone and am more upset knowing that he is probably dead somewhere and we are just unable to locate him. I went out this morning and hunted before starting to look for him and seen 3 does and a spike buck. We are going to pull out of that area for a few days to let it settle down and going to hunt a stand that i hung a couple of weeks ago and just haven't had the correct wind to hunt it. Congrats to your boy Craig Mack. Good to see another young man getting into hunting. Can't wait to see the pics. Were you able to see the buck deerkillr? Hopefully you can bust him instead in the morning.

Canuck2
OK rad, you had me wondering for a minute. Shame about that buck, but I'm glad you spent lots of time pounding the bush to try and find him. Craig Mack, a hearty congratulations to your son. monster & deerkillr & ranchand, good luck. I went out this morning and saw several does as well as 2 bucks. Neither was big enough to make me want to pull the trigger and there will be lots more opportunities coming up yet. Guest tarbaby
Thanks caunck, turns out we got 2.5-3" of rain and most of it fell right about sunrise. It's still raining and thundering now as well. If it storms most of the day till this evening it should be good hunting if I can get out there. I'm thinkin the deer will hunker down most of the day to stay out of the weather. What's everybodys opinion on this? I've always been curious how T-storms affect deer movement. ranchand99
Hey team I got an 8pt this morning.Awesome story.20 minutes after daylight I saw a small 5 or 6pt 100yds behind me.I couldn't do anything. He went back in the way he came out.Nothing happened for the next 2 hours then it all broke loose. A doe and yearling came down the trail in a hurry, and feeding along.I ranged them at about 230.In range for what they say my omega, and omega BDC scope can shoot, but too far for my comfort. They exited the trail, and about 5 minutes later a wide, but short tined buck steps out at 218yds.I grunted at him,and that's when he stopped so I could range him.He stepped off before I could make my mind up. Only 5 minutes later another small buck(maybe the one I saw after daylight) came across the road.I could hear chasing going on over in the palmetto's.I had some golden estrous out,and the wind was blowing to them, but apparently they were right on the doe. Only a few minutes later I see an 8pt bird-doggin in the road following the does trail. He zig zagged all over, and started off of the road when I grunted a few times like I was chasing. He whirled around and started running right towards me!Just like on TV..lol He ran about 50yds,and stopped to look around,I grunted again, and he started sprinting my way.He ran another 50yds,and slowed down to a fast walk.Still coming in my direction. He had his nose up,and was coming to the golden estrous on a string. At 135yds.(35yds from the golden estrous)he turned broadside, and I took the shot. The 250gr shockwave powered by 150gr of pyrodex pellets made a great hit,and he only went 30yds!This is the first big buck I've grunted up and it was very exciting if you can tell. He is an average buck for around here.3.5yr old 8pt and weighed 152#.But the experience wasn't average..lol..Here he is.
ranchand99
Today has just been unbelievable!!!I decided to climb close to where I saw all the other deer crossing this morning.I had just pulled up my gun,and was reaching for my long sleeve shirt when I caught movement in the open pines.I got my Omega up and found the deer at the edge of the path.I saw it was a doe and that was good becuase that's what I was after. She was 108yds when she stopped for a second and I hammered her.I thought I heard her pile up.Robbie called me because he was worried something had happened since I had just went to the stand.I told him I had shot a doe,and thought I heard her crash. He said he heard a pop so I had hit her. I hung up the phone,re-loaded my omega, and pulled my long sleeve out.I laid it across my stand.Pulled my short sleeve off,and when I looked up I saw another deer coming at 62 yds! So,here I am with no shirt on.. and she steps out.I take the shot, and she is hit good.I hear her pile up,so I decide that is plenty of deer for me today. I trailed them, and neither one went over 50yds.The shockwaves worked flawlessly. Here I am with my 2 does.
Canuck2
ranch, that is some kind of day! You are going to be a busy guy getting all them processed and into the freezer. Nicely done. That buck is a good looking deer. Lots of guys would give their eyeteeth to bag an 'average' buck like that.
