Guest Guideman
Good name. " Rack Stackers " Very nice. I apologize for the delay folks, it's my time to go to work. I am a guide here in Missouri and I am also forming a chapter of SCI as well. Plus going through depositions as I was hit head on 2 years ago, so, I have been quite busy these last 3 weeks. I look forward to getting some stand time myself in 2 weeks and then during our Gun season. I have set a goal of 2 archery bucks over 160" and my Gun buck over 160" this year. I know, I know, but, A girl has to have goals huh? Good to be back in here. hahahahhaha

buckee
Signatures Hey, Everyone now has the ability to upload their sinatures, directly from your computer, instead of having to host them somewhere, and Everyone now has the 30k limit for their signature upload, (instead of 13.0 k) directly from your computer. Also, everyone now has the WYSIWYG editor, even if they did not before. They can change it back if they want, but everyone now has it. Everyone can thank Scott and Brittany (at Greyloon.com) Right click on the picture(signature) and "Save image as....". choose a folder somewhere in your computer to save it in, such as "My Pictures", which is found in "My Documents", so you know where to find it when you upload. Then go up to the toolbar in the forums and click on "User CP", and "Edit Signature" (upper left hand side in grey strip toolbar) Then scroll down to "Option 2 - Upload Image From Your Computer" and click on the "Browse" button. Then go to the folder you have the picture stored in and click on the picture. Then just click "Save Signature" . That should take care of your signatures. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Well, i made it back from my trip to the U.P. on Sunday evening. Was a fun trip, but i came home with the tags still in my pocket. didn't really see much, Turns out that when we got there, we heard a little ways down the road that they were doing some logging, so that might have made them a little skiddish. Friday night, as i was getting out of my blind, i had one blow a couple times at me. never did get a chance to see where it was or what it was. and as i started back to the road, i heard some yotes about 150 yards off, and it sounded like they were starting to get closer, i have never encountered a yote and had no idea what they would do, so i knocked an arrow just in case and had to get my flashlight out as well so i could see :D overall i had fun, was relaxing being up in the middle of no where for 4 days. We are heading back up to another area in about a month, an area where i ALWAYS see deer. but until then I have a small piece of land down here that i will be hunting. QDMAworks4me
Sounds like you had a good time!! Good luck next time you go out. Yotes can be a little intimidating when they are that close at night, you never seem to know how many there are when they start howling and personaly I don't want to get close enough to count
QDMAworks4me
Has anyone else had any luck? I got a doe opening day of muzzleloader season but forgot to take pics of me and the deer so I guess that just means I will have to get another one, Which I will. We have good pieces of property and some more tags. Good luck as you folks are headed out to the woods!!
okbowman
I've only been in the tree once, I'll be going a few times next week here, temps are getting a little cooler finally. Our muzzleloader season opens on the 27th, from that day on I'll be in the woods as much as possible until December arrives.

Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
well team...i failed us today, had a good shot on a deer and missed...here is the story i posted in the bowhunting room in case you haven't read it in there yet...I felt like i was gunna puke after all of it happened...i'll be up all night replaying it in my head here ya go woke up late this morning, didnt get out to the woods until 11:30am. at around 1 o'clock, while i am playing yatzee I hear a twig snap, and look to the left and see a small spike. about 40 yards away. I get up, draw and can't get a shot so i turn to aim at an opening i think he is going to go by, but he ends up turning and walking into some really think stuff and i lose sight of him. well as i am putting my bow back up on the hanger, i look up over and the same way the smaller deer came in came a really nice 8 pointer..I know it is the same deer I passed up last year and was waiting to get a shot at this year...so here is my chance..right?? he is 40 yards away...I draw he steps into a nice opening I shoot...I MISS he kind of just spins around acting like "what the heck was that?" i am sure either i went low or my face mask got in the way and sent it in front of the deer and low. So i take the mask off, nock another arrow, draw back, he is still broadside i squeeze the trigger on the release, and then it happened, my arrow just barely pops off the rest and lands at the base of the tree...i look, and notice my peep tubing came of of the peep, i am shaking and tring to put it back on, and the whole time i am making this racket the deer still stands in the smae spot. so i get it fixed, draw back, and notice my arrow isn't lifting up and by the time i noticed it, the broadhead had hit the shelf on the riser while i was drawing back and it falls to the base of the tree as well. I look at my bow again and noticted my rest broke It is a muzzy zero effect, and the plastic arm that connects to o the cable broke where it connects to the main part of the rest. man i am ticked right now, along with the disappointment of missing the deer i have been wanting all year, my rest is broke and i have to get a new one. mrswtnhunt
My first Muzzleloader buck Well guys, I racked us a few points last night. Here is the story: First of all, I was walking up a pretty good hill coming up behind a box blind sitting at the top of the hill overlooking a clover/chickory plot. I get about 10 feet from the ladder and a bedded bobcat jumps up and runs down the hill where I just came from. It was a pretty big bobcat. Scared the crap out of me. Anyway, after I had been in the stand about an hour i saw 4 does. There was a 2 1/2 yr old, a 1 1/2 yr old and 2 fawns from this year. The 1 1/2 yr old was real jumpy, they were feeding in the plot for about 15 minutes before they walked slowly off the field back into the woods. About 45 minutes after the does left, this fella walked out into a plot about 100 yards away. he was working a scrape then stretched his head up to lick an overhanging branch. THat is when I took my shot. It was already getting dark so I walked back to the house and got the 4-wheeler and my 11 year old daughter. We got to the place where I had shot him and all I could find was old blood from the deer my husband bagged that morning and the blood was dried up. I grabbed the spotlight and shined it around and there he was about 10 yards from where he was when I took the shot. My daughter screamed "AWESOME MOM" She ran over to it and started counting points. It was one of those mother/daughter moments I will never forget. I moved the 4-wheeler up to him and the two of us got him on the front rack after much teamwork. Started going down the hill back to the house and he fell off. My hubby ended up going back and getting it for me. The deer has 7 points and field dressed weighed 130 pounds. He is my first muzzleloader buck. Here are a few pics.

TreeWalker
Last night was the night....I still can't beleive it happened. After several does showed up first, I was watching as the first buck that came by was a young forkhorn.....he screwed around for a while, and I kinda lost interest in watching him, so I started concentrating on trying to do something about keeping my hands warm (man it was cold yesterday afternoon, even in the Double Bull)...... So anyways, I'm not even watching anymore, when I hear the crunch of leaves coming from the other direction......I'm not even excited, just figured it was either another young forky or maybe one of the 4x4s I have been seeing..........then the young fork horn tucked his tale and made a quick exit.......I knew something was up then, but the deer was hidden behind some trees, so I couldn't see him yet.........and of course, I'm still not really paying attention.......the next time I looked up, it didn't even dawn on me yet until I quickly did a double take and grabbed my binos in a swift motion to verify......my goodness, it was him...... I can't remember much of the shot, except it seemed like I was making tons of noise as I reached for the bow , raised and drew back on him.......thankfully it was only a 20 yard shot, cause undoubtedly I would have missed at further ranges the way I was shaking.......perfect boiler room shot, and he still made it about 70 yards. I let him sit for about a half hour, and by then I remembered I had to hoof it back to my truck to get my knives, and it was getting dark quick.......and forgetting a flashlight is not cool either.......man did I butcher that gut job....litterally.......I ended up with a mess.....not pretty, but got the job done........and of course I had no water with either cause I never even expected to actually shoot a deer tonight....... Then I plan the easiest route for dragging, turns out there really isn't one........and like I said, it is dark......but when I finally slid him up to the truck, I still wanted to get a couple of field photos......I get him posed by the back of the truck, with the cargo light on....and the battery in my camera is dead !!! So I load him up, come home....charge my camera battery for about a 1/2 hour........then headed out with him to a nearby creek bottom, unloaded him and took a few photos, so I would at least have that much......... So anywho, here are the pics.....not the best, but the best I could muster under the circumstances.......Clay

I have a fawn who keeps coming around my stand, i think the last 6 times i have been out she has come in at least once, sometimes twice in one sitting. will be heading up to the upper peninsula next tuesday for about 6 days for the gun opener, hope to at least score on a doe up there. mrswtnhunt
How many points do we have now? Which team is in 1st place and how close are we?
okbowman
I killed a 7 point on 10-29 with the muzzleloader, a doe on 11-3 with the muzzleloader, and a antlerless buck with the bow on 11-6. Here's a pic of the 7 point. He dressed at 101 lbs., he's not laying right in the pic. Points for us.
