Guest cowboy89
Hey guys i broke my leg 3 weeks ago and can't climb any trees during my bow season. i was wondering what is a good portable ground blind for a good price. I would use it for bow hunting, gun hunting, and turkey hunting. Thanks Andrew:)
wtnhunt
Welcome to the forums. Have never used a commercial made ground blind, but looked at the ameristep blinds this weekend, they look very functional and do not cost a fortune. bigmoss
Ditto to the above statement for the money Ameristep is the best by far, customer service and warranty. I would suggest you have a look at the Brickhouse made by them great for 2 people or one with allot of equipment !
Tetro
The best ground blind we ever used was from nature. Either we clean a spot out in a overgrown section beside a cedar rail fence. Or for years(untill the farmer clear it) we cleaned out the middle of a stone pile located in a centre of a field.
johnf
The outhouse blind is good. It's big enough for two lawnchairs and plent room to shoot from. If you want something a little smaller/lighter the doghouse looks like it would be nice, but I'm not sure if it would give you enough room for bow hunting. These two blinds could easily be put up by someone in a wheelchair. I'm not sure the "Bigger better" stands could.
Guest trackerman64
i am strictly a ground hunter and have found the best ground blind to be a natural one,, i hunt in bushes or downed trees and have great results,, a lot of close shots,, you just have to be really aware of the wind
Guest adrenaline_junky
Welcome to the forums. Double bull is the way to go if you have a lot of money sitting around. The best bang for your buck would have to be the Ameristep blinds, they are cheap but very dependable.
PotashRLS
i am strictly a ground hunter and have found the best ground blind to be a natural one,, i hunt in bushes or downed trees and have great results,, a lot of close shots,, you just have to be really aware of the wind We help make natural ground blinds for two buddies of mine who are in wheelchairs and hunt off atvs. Obviously the atv won't fit in a commercial blind but they hunt turkeys from their chairs and the commercial ones work well. I have terrible luck with them for deer because I have found that when leaving them out in my hunting spots for weeks at a time, the sun fades them out very quickly. I have one Ameristep and the other I'm not sure of. Both faded and the brown turns to a burnt reddish orange. I was and am quite dissappointed in that. What does everyone else do about leaving them outside?
bigbuck145
I would go with the ameristep cause of the price. I looked at one the other day and buying one my self. The one i have now is the eclipse by ground max it was on sale in the bass pro in katy tx for 69 dollars so i bought it for the price. Hopefully it will do alright until i get the ameristep brickhouse.
Brad6639
Im using a ground max eclipse. I would say this is the next best blind in line behind a double bull. It has rock solid hubs, fast set up, decent size inside, and its 100 bucks. From what ive found with the spring steel pop open blinds(Ameristep), they flap a lot in the wind and they dont fit back in there case very well. The other thing is the hub blinds (pick a brand), seldom need to be staked whereas the spring steel blinds almost always have to be staked.
