There a few days ago they relased that there is a viral disease going around right now and killing a lot of deer. They said there have been over 300 found in the five counties here that the disease has been located in. All they said was it has something to do with misquitos and after the first good frost we wotn have to worry about it anymore. Its not contagous tho they have to be bitten I guess.

Now Im worried about deer that I have been watching all summer nothing huge but some nice bucks.

Also it said they had found it in Ohio and Kentucky one other state as well but dont remember what it was. It makes the deers tongue swell and something in there nose to swell and they cant eat and they sufficate from what I have read.

Any of you guys know anything about what Im talking about?

Probably the EHD or blue tongue thing I heard was going on in PA? Small flies are giving it to the deer and they are dying...it's sad. I just hope it doesn't get up into NY. We had a forst 2 nights in a rowi n my arear and supposedly you have to have a frost to stop it..kill of the flies.... That's what I know

Been quite a few posts on ehd Cody. There has been dieoffs here in Tennessee from ehd as well. The cause is a biting fly(midge) or gnats. Might look at some of the other posts, there has been some good information linked http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61842.
