In all honesty I think that might be too many bucks to take within that small an area. There might not be any big ones left.

Those are some real brutes for sure but in no way, even if i could, would i shoot that many bucks.Especially from one area. But that's just me,we don't have a great pop of deer here.

Was it a bucks only hunt or were they allowed to take does?If so,it would have been better for them to have taken atleast half of them as does.

JMO, but that is irresponsible and potentially damaging to the herd in that area. That's too many bucks to take from one area in a short time. That is, if the story is correct. Nice bucks though, I hope they enjoy them, they won't be there next year.

Now that I look at it more, that is, I think, the same pic that was posted last year. The story then was it was in Wisconsin(?).

OK, you have my attention now, can you offer proof. I want to believe it but it is sorta hard to.

Now I do know they have big Bucks out there, but a 1/2 mile seems hard to believe though confused.gif Dunno, maybe. They are nice deer and wish I was in that picture.

Re: Amazing Iowa Hunt.......PICS!

Just a little history. I live in the county next to Allamakee. Allamakee has more Boone and Crocket bucks taken in the last 20 years then any other county in the United States (including Buffalo County, Wisconsin). The bluffs along the Mississippi and the croplands allow these bucks to grow very big, very fast. At the Iowa Deer Show, most every year Allamakee has the biggest typical and non-typical, or they are very close to the top. Rumors are flying around about a big buck that was taken this year in Allamakee County that may push the record. Unconfirmed rumors of course.

Other information; you can "PARTY HUNT" in Iowa. That means that you can shoot as many deer as you want, just as long as a person in your party has a tag to put on it. Concerning the taking of does; you can buy doe tags over the counter for $25. I usually buy at least one extra doe tag. The second tag is $11, I believe. I am sure that they harvested a few doe.

I don't believe that they dented the buck population in that county all that bad. Why, every year that county produces many buck just like that and it doesn't look like it's going to stop. It would be amazing if the all came from a 1/2 mile area.

Good luck to all

Okay, I dug it up. It was actually 2 years ago. Unfortunately the site the pic was hosted on is no more. But, Buckee is right, it was a different truck-o-bucks, this one had 8 bucks. Here's the link but no picture. I was wrong.
