jcs3344
if ya go out drinkin might wanna wait and hold off and go huntin a couple days after, dont wanna be drunk tryin to climb a tree ! Think safety first !
wildside
Here's my 2 cents: You only turn 21 once in life (although some middle-age-crisis types try to do it more than once ). I'd say go out on your birthday and have fun - be safe about it all, of course - but have a blast with good friends and give up the opener. You have all season to hunt but only one day to call your birthday! Good luck with your decision!

razortec_hunter
that's good to remember .....deer b4 beer........... all i know is when i see someone who is having a beer and then talking about how he's gonna wake up in the morning and go to his favorite spot.......all i know is i dont want to be anywhere near that spot. orange doesn't matter when your drunk..........it's just not smart do drink and hunt. just like it is to drink and drive. We rented a limo for my 21st birthday. It's a night I will never forget. Good Luck either way.
MUDRUNNER
I'm with Wildside on this one.Go out and have a good time with your buddies, just be carefull.I know how the old "I'll only stay out for one or two" goes.I would probably try to go out on Friday night or Saturday night instead so you will be able to make both. Turkeygirl
here's my thoughts. now i know i'm 14 but i will NEVER EVER EVER drink in my whole life. whether i'm 21 or not. i will never ever drink and or smoke. i take care of the body God has given me Amen! I don't drink so obviously my choice would be my deer stand in the wee hours of the morning. Whatever you do, I'm sure you'll make a good choice. By advocating MichiganHunter to go out and "have a blast" on his birthday, I did not say nor did I have any intention of saying "go out and get blasted"! My "2 cents" on it all would be the same, regardless of which number birthday it may be (21 or 41). Celebrate the occasion and enjoy time with those dear to you in life. I, too, take care of the body with which God has so richly blessed me, and I highly encourage others to do the same. It is possible, in my opinion and that of others, as well, to responsibly enjoy an alcoholic drink or two on occasions in life and all the while maintain respect and gratitude to our Creator. There is no doubt a line between use and misuse of virtually anything in life, and it is for each of us to know where that line is in our own personal lives. I know that we come from all walks of life and have many different stories about how we became who we are today and why. Just please know that I value others, appreciate the stories behind the faces and respect our differences. That's all. MichiganHunter, whatever you decide, enjoy yourself and have no regrets! razortec_hunter
i think u should do what u want. if it were me i would spend time with friends and family (even if i was 21 i would not do anything with alcohol) but that's just my opinion. dosse
Your 21st is something to remember and alot of times opening day is not the best hunting anyway. I think you would be crazy not to go out and celebrate because after 21 you no longer have anything to look forward to for every year older you get. So go out, drink alot, run some game on some ladies, go to a gentlemans club, and maybe even a casino if one is close by. Just have fun cause you only live once, you will be talking about your 21st alot longer than your opening morning, then you can be in the tree that afternoon, you may have a head ache but your hunting And also there is absolutely nothing wrong with drinking especially on your 21st. Drinking a few beers on the weekends or even a few 12 packs is not that bad for your body its when it becomes daily that you can hurt yourself. Im sure when i was 14 i went around preaching that i would never touch beer or cigarrettes and then i turned 16 and whoops hahaha. When you get older razortech you will probably think a little differently
wildthing
what is more important to you...drinkin' or huntin'? I am guessing you have had a few cold ones before...turning 21 and drinking your ass off isn't all it is cracked up to be. I spent 4 your puking, slept with my face in a trash can with my girlfriend rubbing my back all night...then slept the whole next day...can never get that day back...trust me...your friends won't let you have just a few and you'll get caught in the moment! 21 seems like a big deal, but in truth, it is just another day... I'd rather spend my days enjoying myself and being productive...head to the woods...celebrate with a big buck and a beer later...

Guest Wackmaster17
Yeah come on man, you only turn 21 once! Go out, have a few drinks, and have a great time. The deer will still be in the woods. Have fun man!

Rhino
I agree with Wildside too. Act responsibly but enjoy the celebration of your 21st birthday. It only comes once in your lifetime. There's plenty of time to hunt this year. I'll even have a toddy to toast to your 21st on the back porch of our hunting camp that evening. NONE of my family has ever even touched a beer. i plan to do the same. i dont care how old i get i will still have the same concept on beer. and if you think you can go out and get drunk and then be "sitting in the deer stand that afternoon" i dont think u are making very wise moves as a hunter. if u pull crap like that nobody will want to hunt with you. i know i wouldn't. Guest adrenaline_junky
I'd have to agree with wildside. Go out and drink for your birthday. You know if you drink all night you could take the morning and sleep off your drunkeness then go out in the afternoon. If you do go out good luck if you go drinkin stay safe and please use your head. Have Fun and Happy early Birthday.
razortec_hunter
i'm not saying a few beers is wrong (though i still wont ever do it) but getting "drunk" IS wrong.
