Guest trackerman64
i am just wondering if the rest of the country is getting bombarded with acorns this year,, we almost have to wear hardhats there are so many falling,
wtnhunt
Mast crops in Tennessee are poor this year, but we do have some trees around here that have produced this year. The late frost and drought are big factors in production, the twra is suggesting that this year will see a lot of deer searching for food making for more successful hunters. bfletch7441
Surprisingly, there are a lot of acorns on our place. The persimmons are loaded also. I figured the late freeze, early flooding, and late drought would wipe them out, but mother nature is a crafty lady. Ben

MCH
White oak acorns took a hit this year. Red Oak and Post Oak are doing great, though.
Tominator
Don't really know. I haven't been out there yet. Hickory nuts seem to be up a little.
Deb
Kinda off your topic, but as I was driving throu GA, the persimmon trees are loaded to near splitting the tree! ( at least between Augusta and Atlanta)

Sam16
We are also getting bombarded with acorns in northern il
Smitteken
Southern IL has nothin. Our woods are filled with white and red oaks, but I've only found two total trees that had any to speak of, and they were a shingle oak and a pin oak. RackBlaster
Up at my place in Wisconsin every white oak that i have around the house has thousands of them dropping. The ground is littered with them and the deer are happy!
Guest adrenaline_junky
We seem to have a lot of them this year too. Can't wait to see what the deer think, of course they willn't have much time to think when i shaft 'em. Good Luck this season.

Dawg
The TPWD Biologist here in Jasper says that we will have PLENTY of acorns this year and that they should start falling pretty quick. I hope they do!!!!!
woodshed
Im in the St Louis area. I've only found a few oaks that I can see with binocs that have acorns. But they are green and not falling yet. Many of the trees I don't see any. However the squirrels are working in what I can see as selective trees and making them drop some. So, I guess there is some way up there. The ones I've seen fall are small too. It's definately not like last year though. I guess the late freezing rain/ice storm in the spring may have had some affect. Anybody know if that would do it????
spineshot
big acorns certain spots in Southern Ohio are loaded and others are less. Most of the acorns are huge.

Washi
Seems there are quite a few here in North East Missouri. That's good for me because acorns seem to be what draw the deer off the neighbors property once the crops are out.

Guest bow_hunter101
Here in KY the drought about wiped out the acorns this year. If you can find 'em though you can find the deer.
